So this is a hypothetical situation that has not happened to me: suppose I wiped data factory reset, and formatted system and hit reboot phone. What would happen? Would I be able to get back into CWM? In this situation I've also got a nandroid and custom roms on my sd card partition. Would I need to completely wipe and use Odin restore images to stock? Too scared to find the answer the hard way.

Thanks.

because you didn't wipe BOOT i think you'd be OK to just reflash something via CWM but I could be wrong about that.

at the very least you'd be able to get into fastboot and do a restore with wugs tool

You could always pull the battery, replace it, Boot into the bootloader (Vol up and down + Power), then scroll using volume to Recovery, to get back into CWM.

That's what I figured. I just see some people freaking out not being able to get back into recovery and was just wondering. Thanks!

No problem.. Yeah I've gotten myself stuck in some bootloops or otherwise screwed myself where I was thankful for that method of always being able to get back into the bootloader.. and if you can get back to the bootloader you should be able to get back into recovery :)
