What a confusing sea of information online. One thing I do know, my Klipsch S4's do not have any volume or answering capabilities. Even with the Klipsch App and others I have tried. So what's out there with GOOD quality that you have found that work specifically on the Note 2? Volume, pause and answering calls. Maybe even skip...I know I'm asking for a lot! Since us ATT folks Note 2 didn't come with earbuds, I thought maybe there would be some success stories out there. Currently using Doubletwist for music/podcasts and Slacker.

Interesting question. I've been noodling this myself. I really like the doctor dray tours. They do come with call control but no volume control on Android. Sound quality is terrific. Haven't tried a call with them yet but look forward to that. They do come with a very nice carrying case.

I tried more expensive monster earbuds but didn't like them. Sent them back.

Today I tried the Parrot Zik Bluetooth headphones at Brookstone. They have a demo unit, nice! The Ziks sounded great and control app works really well even though it's just in beta. I'm really loving these.

They have touch control of volume, previous and next, and call answering, call ignoring, it cetera. You just wipe on the side of the right ear piece, which is touch sensitive. Amazing technology!

Nice, but $$$$$$$$ and I'm looking for an earbud set up for cycling, etc...
Thanks for the response. If I find something, I will post here as well.
Anyone else?

I went on Black Friday to buy a pair of Bluetooth Jaybirds and I do like them very much. I got the at Best Buy for $129. Yes, I know that expensive. However, the quality of sound and freedom that Bluetooth gives you for me makes it worth the price.

Do your Jaybirds have next, rewind, pause, and volume up & down built in them?

My Plantronics 903+ stereo Bluetooth do. Also they will tell you how much time you have remaining. 7 hour music/talk time. $47 on Amazon.

It sounds like wired buds/phones have the issues. I'm concerned with Bluetooth sound and phone battery drain. Maybe I need to expand my choices and look at Bluetooth. What kind of battery drain are you experiencing with streaming Bluetooth?

I stream 8 hours a day over Bluetooth and my phone doesn't need charging until around 6pm.

Honestly the new ones for the iphone 5 are not that bad. The provide plenty of bass if thats your thing. I think they are $30

Has anyone tried 'air tube' headsets/adapters on the Note 2? Functionality good? Any issues?

Which ones are recommended? There are bluetooth versions as well, interestingly enough. I've seen a few brands out there, but it's hard to tell which one would be best.

I think these (Smart and Safe) were the original, or at least the first to be commercially advertised: Amazon.com: Smart&Safe Hollow Air Tube Hands-free Headset with 3.5mm Jack: Electronics

Does anyone know anything about Samsung's official "Active sound" earbuds? I am also looking for earbuds that will allow me to answer calls, pause music, etc... Thanks!

I believe they are S4's. Leftovers from my Apple days.
Looks like there is defiantly a need for compatible products, or a test of current available buds. How 'bout it Android Central?

I bought these today. Bluetooth Headphones : Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Sports : Android Bluetooth Stereo Headset Headphones : iPhone Bluetooth Headphones : iPod Bluetooth Headphones : Jaybirdgear.com
We'll see how they work. Will report on fit, usage, connecting etc when they get here. I'm kinda worried because I have lost numerous earbuds. Most recently the new Apple ones. I have no earthly idea what happened to them. I also lost a pair of Etymotic HF5's too! Along with some S4's.

I know that's a long url. But I cannot figure out how to put my own info and have it link or shorten it.

I've used LG's HSB700 Bluetooth eat buds and they work great! Have all the functions to control music and answer calls etc. Sound is ok to great. Battery life is 10 hours a day and streaming Bluetooth I always drain my headset before my phone needs charging. Try Em out. Amazon has them now for about 50 $.

I saw you say you are concerned about the sound via bluetooth. If that's the case it sounds like you're starting to look into audiophile grade stuff which means you will have to make a choice as to what's more important, sound quality, or android controls. If you are looking for sound quality, can you give me an idea what type of music you like and do you know what type of sound signature you prefer? Also, what price range, would you consider something at the $350 price point if the sound quality was there?
