Wired tethering to a Mac?

So, thanks to the very helpful members of this forum, I'm now running the stock EB01 ROM on my Fascinate. I'm still poking around for new features and such, and I had a question about tethering.

I understand that 2.2 makes it easier to tether the phone to a computer. I tried doing this to see what would happen (plugged in the cable and switched on the tethering option in network settings), but I have no idea how to configure this on my Mac. The phone shows up in the network panel as a modem, but I couldn't get it working.

Does anyone know how to set this up? Also, will the EB01 kernel report back to Verizon about wired tethering in addition to the wireless sort?

Thanks!

I use the App PdaNet for wired tethering. You have to have it on the
android (see android market) and the Mac ->Download PdaNet.

It's a simple set-up, has instructions on the download page and has worked great for me. Tethering is kind of 'use at your own risk' to my understanding. But, I've taken the risk and have, thus far, only reaped the rewards. (knock on wood)
Also, the newest android app version is 2.45, but the mac is 2.42. So, you may need to google: pdanet.apk 2.42 and download that, if the 2.45 doesn't work for you.
