Wired tethering - via PDANet

I'm using PDANet for my wired tethering and it is driving me nuts. What I don't know, however, is if it's my phone's connection or PDANet. It is slower than Christmas. I have to connect it and disconnect it until I get a good connection - to play YouTube videos, for example. Even pulling up these forums can take a while. My PC usually says I'm pulling around 1.4mbs. Not blazing, but not bad for going thru a cell phone.

What do I do to diagnose where the problem is? Is there an app that will help me figure things out?

It should not take me 15 MINUTES to download a 4 MINUTE YouTube clip!

I honestly bought Easy Tether Pro and never have any problems.. its 10 bucks but it seems incredibly worth every penny.. it can even share internet to xbox live. i sometimes get 10 megs so i dk!

try easy thether lite for a while? maybe its better then PDANet.. it could just be the providers internet and not the application that is running slow as well.

if only wifi wasnt 30 bucks a month and rooting wasnt so tedious and scary
