wired usb port only works on computer?

I have purchased the app for my Canon camera "dsl controller" ....to use as tethered shooting.....problem is my PC sees the Galaxy tab 2 7".......but i am unable to get the port to recognize any other devices my camera and the "dsl controller" app......is what i really want to use my tablet for the most......someone said the upgrade to jellybean shut down this usb port.

Have you tried an OTG adapter? It will let you connect a thumb drive , keyboard or mouse to the Tab-2. May recognize your camera or whatever!

Find them on Ebay for under $10. I haven't found them available in stores! They have a 20 pin Tab-2 connector on one end and USB Female on the other!

I went to this site and found out under "devices" that you do need an OTG cable. They have a link to one on Ebay
