Wirefly.com confirms May 18th release!!

My wife and I bought our Palm Pres through Wirefly in September, 2009, and got a better deal than Sprint was offering at the time. We have never had any problems with them and no problems having the phones serviced through Sprint. My wife must have had her Pre replaced at least 6-7 times during her two years with no trouble. She moved on to the iPhone 4s at the end of her contract. I've been waiting. And waiting. Was set to get the Nexus, but after the time gap after the time of release, the EVO 4G LTE caught my eye and I am about to contact Wirefly and put in my pre-order.

i thought we established her on the EVO LTE forum that wirefly wasn't as friendly as far as upgrading a different line then switching it? anyone else remmeber where that was? amazon had a similar policy IIRC. best buy was the only one mentioned that let you basically do whatever.

FWIW, I bought my OG evo using a family members upgrade, swapped it to my line and then let the family member use my upgrade a month or two later when i was eligible.

/two cents

i just ordered mine too. have it ship to my parents address since i will be traveling in peru till the 23. they need me to call and confirm the order since it's to a different address. i also got 1600 miles bonus cause of my united air mileage club special.

Can anyone else shed some more light on this? I just pre-ordered on Wirefly on my wife's line, but I will be giving her my Evo 3D and taking the Evo LTE. I've always done this thru Best Buy and it wasn't a problem. I'm hoping it will work thru Wirefly as well.

Also, it is not activated upon delivery from Wirefly is it? I'm assuming I need to call it in to activate? I just don't want it to get activated when it shows up at my office and then leave her without a phone until she gets home.

i think they will, my order says Transferred After Delivery . if that's the case, i will be flying back from peru, with no phone access. luckily, my girlfriend will have her phone with her. If i remember correctly, i ordered through them before for my mom's phone and it was already activiated.

Damn, that complicates things. So once the package gets marked as delivered, the phone is automatically activated? That doesn't even seem like a safe idea, why would they do that?

Yep it's already activated when it gets to your door, not switching lines friendly

yeah, but i think that's how they can waive your activation fee. just a guess, on their site, there's a banner that says sprint activation fee wavied till may 10

Unfortunately, It states in the preorder page that the E4GLTE is not eligible for the activation fee waive promotion :(

damn fine print. haha. o well. i did get 1600 miles from my miles card, that's about the charge of the activation fee.

So is sprint waiving the fee or no? If they are, then the $70 savings really dips down.

Unless this is something new. I've ordered two phones through Wirefly, and I always had to call Sprint and activate them once they were delivered.

I think it might means your contract starts on the day of delivery.

i don't think so, looks like for new line only. it says for activation on new line on account, and not valid for pre order.

DISCLAIMER: I've never used Wirefly.

Reading Wirefly's site, they say that new lines of service come pre-activated, but upgrades do not.

Again, I don't know if that is reality or not, but that's what they say. They say that only new lines (additional lines, or new accounts altogether) come activated.

Anyone done an UPGRADE in the past that came activated? If so, I agree, that's terrible, regardless of when the activation occurs (ship date, delivery date, whatever). I'd only want to activate it on my time...

yeah, this would be great, coming back from peru, would be nice if my phone still works if i get a delay and my girlfiend decide to leave me on during the trip. haha. :p

I purchased from sprint over the phone and they waived the $36 upgrade fee that wirefly was going to make me pay. That brings the price closer and with sprint I'll get mine sooner! :)

I've ordered 3 phones from wirefly and they are def a reputable 3rd party but everytime I had to call in to activate and, at least in my 3 cases, always had a clause that if you removed the device from the account in however many days that I would receive a large fee (Can't remember how much) applied to my account for violating the terms. Not sure if its like that for E4GLTE but I'm just saying be careful. I'm using someone else's upgrade and switching it to my line and using mine for when the gs3 is released so I'm gonna just play it safe and go with Sprint later today when I'm off. HAPPY PRE-ORDER DAY!
