Hello all,

I have a Samsung Galaxy A14 5G phone. At night, I always put my phone on silent (not Do Not Disturb). Whenever I get an imminent weather alert (tornado warning, flood warning), blue alert, etc. I do not realize it until the morning when I see the notification. In other words, it does not make the siren noise. I thought these Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) were supposed to override the silent mode? It definitely makes the noise if the phone is not on silent mode. I appreciate any help in advance.

Welcome to Android Central! I'm not sure there's a way to get around that. It should alert through Do Not Disturb if you choose Wireless Emergency Alerts as an app that can interrupt -- is there a reason you don't use DND?

On a Samsung phone, go to Settings>Notifications>Do Not Disturb>App Notifications>Add Apps. Then search for Wireless Emergency Alerts, and add that. (You can also select certain contacts that can interrupt, like family members, in case you don't want to miss urgent calls from them.)
