I wish HTC had provided for this. Even as an aftermarket add on. It would have been the icing on the already excellent cake.

I loved it on my Palm Pre, and I hacked the receiver from my Palm Pre over to my original Evo 4g and ran like that for a couple years, but now I don't see how I'm going to be able to do it to my new Evo LTE. Physically it can be done but not nice and clean like it was possible on the original Evo. Closest I can think of is to butcher it into a case, but I don't use cases ever and don't want to start now. Too bad. It's such a sweet setup. with bluetooth for audio and the inductive receiver for power, you can go literally years without touching a cord. I even had a Touchstone base in the car. No cords showing anywhere, no fussing with plugs every 2 seconds. Just hop in and drop the phone onto the touchstone, then grab it and go. So nice... I'll miss it. The "official" Sprint (rebadged iGrip) car dock for the Evo LTE is an ugly to look at and annoying to use, joke. Especially if you don't have a case on the phone and have to use the spacer insert, the dock looks like a boat with a phone in the middle. CRAP!

The GS3 is supposed to have inductive charging but without a touchstone. I am no engineer and dont know how, and its not been talked about much either.Guess we will find out when it is released. Or Apple may say its their patent and hold it in customs :)
Maybe some one will hack it to the EVO.
