Wobbly power button...

I am not seeing any wobbly power button. It feels solid and clicky to me.

If I shake it I can barely hear a very faint rattle. But it is the kind of thing I never would have noticed if I was not looking for it. This is not something that is obvious or pronounced.

And it sounds to me like some people are looking for problems that aren't necessarily there. I'm not an apologist for Google but some folks obsess over the strangest things.

This x1,000,000,000. As soon as the phones started arriving, a "Nexus 5 Problems and Issues" thread immediately went up. I've noticed this phenomenon with just about every single phone ever to come out. It's almost as if people would rather find issues with their phones, rather than enjoy them.

Mine moves quite a bit. Is this something Google would swap without having to wait a month?

My N5 didn't have any wobbly buttons. It is solid and tight in all directions for both the power and volume buttons.

I have a similar deal. Volume rocker is great, solid and I would have to use my finger nails or tweezers to grab it to get it to really move at all. However, I noticed the volume button immediately when I went to use it. It rocks back and forth substantially compared to the volume rocker. It also seems to be loose in and out as well, like it isn't seated correctly. Not sure if it bothers me enough yet or not to RMA. No it isn't a huge issue but it definetly makes the phone feel cheap.

Both my buttons rock back and fourth as well. And the power button does make a noise when I touch near the top of the screen as someone else had mentioned. I mentioned in another thread that my camera cover made this noise as well and after touching it trying to hear if it was loose it completely fell off :(

I'm very pleased my buttons don't move all that much and make no sound...whether tapped or while shaking the phone. I'm super OCD about this kind of stuff too...

Nexus 5 power button rattle fix - YouTube

Not my video but came across this so people have an idea about how loud it is. For people that have said that have minimal rattle or no rattle at all how quiet or non-existent is it compared to the video?

mine rattles likes this but it doesn't bother me one iota and i would have never noticed if it wasn't flagged in these threads. the audio in this youtube is so jacked up that it makes the guy's breathing sound like Darth Vader. but yes, i have this rattling but it is a complete non-issue for me.

but the video is kind of cool to see how easy it is to take it apart.

and they said the Nexus 5 didn't have a removable back??

lol

Mine had a slight rattle.. Could hear it when a text or call came in and the phone was on vibrate.. Slapped a case on it and the rattle is gone...

everything is solid on my phone, no rattles or wobbling

Same here you can't make any of my buttons move they are all high and tight. Must be some of the ceramic buttons shrunk in a few batches. Just call and get a replacement or put it in a case. Millions of phones shipped and we have like 50 people that have an issue.

The rattling seems to really betray an otherwise excellent build phone. I'd definitely RMA for a better one.

I've experienced this before. Even thumb-tapping a message or email can cause it to rattle -- it's enough to drive one nuts.

Mine has a wobbly power button but just got my case in yesterday and installed it and power button is nice and solid now.
