So T-Mobile offers up a Netflix deal, and AT&T has HBO/Directv deals.

Will they roll something out soon or no? Maybe a Hulu deal or YouTube TV?

Just curious what you think.......

They introduced their new rewards program Verizon Up. That's about it for Verizon. Since they don't want heavy streaming and hence why they introduced bans on the amount of data used in streaming (10mpbs or less, with phones being limited to either 420p or 720p video resolution depending on your plan) , you won't see any partnership with streaming services.

I don't expect Verizon to follow. AT&T only did it to help push their home service as well.

Doubt it. It's VZW. If they can't screw subscribers, they won't do it.

Verizon has never seen a reason to offer incentives to stay or switch to them. Truth is, their network is still superior to the others no matter how much advertising Sprint and T-Mobile advertise otherwise. I’d switch in a heartbeat if someone was better for less (or the same) because I am not a fanboy to a brand. While not always true, I find these incentives desperation to compete rather than to add on to their already “amazing” network.

Have you tested T-Mobile in your area lately? My cousin in Harrisburg PA had said in the last year coverage has improved a great deal there.

I have been testing a month of service on t-mobile prepaid. Signal strength is as good as Verizon. This deal with Netflix even makes it more tempting.

Two of my friends have T-Mobile and both have more signal issues than I do. They’re both ready ready to switch back to Verizon because of it. This is in the Chicago area including the city and outer suburbs.

I’m using an iPhone 7 on Verizon.
Friend #1 is using an iPhone 7 on T-Mobile.
Friend #2 is using an iPhone 6S+ on T-Mobile.

So it’s as close to accurate as we’re going to get.

Edit: Don’t get me wrong, T-Mobile has improved but they still have more issues than I’m willing to deal with. The price difference between the two isn’t enough for me to leave Verizon and lose some coverage. But if they work well for you or anyone else that’s great. Choice fuels the mobile industry in becoming better.

I have been with Verizon Wireless since GTE MobilNet from January 5, 1996 with the Nationwide 550 Loyalty Plan and grandfathered unlimited data plan from the days of the Original Motorola Droid 1. A few days ago, I switched to XFinity Mobile which uses the Verizon Wireless network as it's month to month and there is no contract plus I own the 2 x $1 LG X Charge phones which I have already unlocked. So basically it's costing me $45 for the unlimited plan + $5.21 in taxes and fees a month for the 1st line and only $5.21 in taxes and fees a month on line 2 as that is for my mom for voice calls only.

At my home using my Verizon Wireless LG G4 VS986 with the Verizon Wireless NFC MicroSIM, I was getting 19Mbps down/0.01-0.20Mbps up. I live in the middle of 3 different Verizon Wireless towers which are all the same distance about 3000 ft or so away.

I walk west about 900ft and I get 41.86Mbps down/17.34Mbps up

I walk another 900ft which is about 500ft from the tower, I get 50.35Mbps down/36.86Mbps up.

On the moving train between San Francisco State University/Stonestown Galleria shopping mall in San Francisco, I get 34.83Mbps down/36.15Mbps up

The above are all with the LG G4 VS986 while still using the Verizon Wireless NFC MicroSIM with PRL 15518.

I ran speedtest using the LG X Charge with the XFinity nanoSIM and basically get 5Mbps down/0.05Mbps up at home.
I took out the XFinity Mobile NanoSim, not sure if the SIM is NFC or not and then inserted the SIM into a nanoSIM to MicroSIM adapter that was part of UK based MediaDevil SimDevil 3-in-1 SIM Adapter package into my Verizon Wireless LG G4 VS986 with PRL 15516 and did a speedtest and basically got:
32.73Mbps down/6.03Mbps up and 43.71Mbps down/5.03Mbps up so it seems like XFinity using Verizon's network on my Verizon device works better than either XFinity Mobile SIM on XFinity's own device or Verizon Wireless's SIM on Verizon Wireless.

And just for the record, I am getting -111dBm to -120dBm signal strength at home.

Update: For some reason, yesterday, I had to use Comcast's APN as Verizon's APN no longer worked and the speeds at home is back to 19Mbps down/0.20bps up.

I'm outside Chicago also. I remember many discussions with you from the Turbo thread.

But I'm wayyyyy out of Chicago. Try to avoid going that way if at all possible.

I was just saying so far its been very comparable to my Verizon coverage. With 5 lines saving 60 monthly its tempting. Going up to 32 gb and Netflix deal is also tempting.

Being able to use/buy many different phones is also nice. And really curious if the LG 30 and 600 mhz make a big difference.

I will probably buy another month prepaid to keep testing.
