Hi I just got my Galaxy S5 yesterday, I am new to android. So far everything is great except this problem I have. While adding songs I noticed there are a few songs that have the same name, but by different artists. I am using Android File Transfer but It doesn't give me an option to keep both songs, only to skip or replace. How can I keep both songs with the same name but by different artists?

Thank you :)

I have several songs like that on my S5. I have them in sub folders within a single music folder on my sd card without issue. If you aren't using separate sub folders, give that a try.

I just made a folder name "music" and added everything in there.. isn't there a way to make it recognize that the song is by another artist, or a way to simply "keep both files" rather than replace ?

Two files with the same name cannot exist in the same folder. You can either rename one of them (just add a letter or number to the end) or like I do and put them in separate sub folders within the music folder. I have all my music in one folder with sub folders for each artist within that main music folder.

okay got it thank you! Sorry coming from an iPhone it's very different lol

If anybody else has this problem I have found another way. Simply remove the SD card and plug it in directly into your computer with the adapter. Add the songs you want in there and it will not give an error for having the same name. Works perfectly!
