wont recieve text messages

ive had my virgin mobile optimus v since christmas and about two, three months ago it started not recieveing my text messages until 2hours to 1 day later...and it frustrates me because mid conversation i wont recive a text and then get it the next day:-\ and i at least have 1 bar during the conversation...what can help me recieve the texts on time??
