Which is more grippy?

Can't say for sure, but I'm guessing plastic. I recently picked up a Moto X 2014 with the bamboo back and love the look, but it is rather slippery. My prior phone was a Moto X 2013 and I had the woven black back which had a soft touch feel and wasn't as slippery. Not sure about the 2014 models, but with the 2013 ones, generally the darker color plastic backs had the soft touch grippier backs while the lighter colors were more slippery.

I haven't touched a wood phone, but the plastic is very grippy. Almost rubber-ish - at least the black is.

I went with the bamboo back and a clear protective case. Great decision if I do say so myself.

The bamboo back is cool, but nothing compared to the Moto X 2nd Generation's upgraded sensors. It can definitely make your life a little easier if you let it. I have really enjoyed the phone so far, and it has performed wonderfully.

I've messed with both the plastic and the wood. I have a Walnut backed X. The plastic is grippier for sure. If I had a plastic back I might have gone naked, but right now I have a clear protective case like chrisrainespro.
