Worst screen glass ever. Not even 3 weeks in and I have a useless phone now. Thanks LG.

I had a useless Spigen Armor case on a now useless phone. I dropped the phone and it fell face flat. Gets a long crack in it and is barely responsive to anything, making it useless.

You would think a company would make a phone that could withstand normal human use. Awesome job LG (and Spigen too of course). That's like me buying a new, expensive car and if it gets into a minor fender bender - and that's a lot more rare than dropping a phone - then the car would become completely inoperable and useless.

My only hope is that since I bought it at Costco I have some way of getting a replacement or something.

Oh and the call reception on this thing was horrible. My G2 had much better reception.

Nothing wrong with my LG G3. Great screen. Using spigen also. I dropped it face down, not a scratch.

a couple months ago, I dropped my Huawei Y300, glass down, flat onto concrete. No case, no screen protector.

Screen smashed. Still functional (aside from high risk of shredding fingertips...) but smashed. My bad for being a clutz, no case, no screen protector. Yes, drops happen. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not.

It was the first time I've broken a screen though, but here's the difference (aside from also being the first time I've dropped a non-cased phone onto something other then carpet). 99% of the time, my drops are "tumbles". The phone is rotating, usually after glancing off something else - my fingers, leg, furniture, etc. This seems to make a HUGE difference. This time it was an exact flat fall onto concrete. When I went to pick it up, it wasn't to see if the screen HAD broken, it was to see HOW BAD it was. I knew it was done.

LG's warranty doesn't cover physical abuse or damage - which a drop certainly is. Sucks but there it is. Hopefully you can get the screen and digitizer replaced for a decent price. It does suck - I get it. But unless you have insurance on it, you're kinda stuck. Sorry about your luck :(
Bass I had a phone like that, an HTC One X, dropped from like 3 feet landed on corner inside a ballistic case which had big padded corners, cracked screen, digitizer worked fine but sharp cracks and glass residue often coming off face of the phone.

I put a big piece of clear tape over it mainly because I was worried about a big chunk of glass actually coming loose.... Just cut a piece big enough, laid it down flat (sticky side down) and then trimmed it down afterwards. I was surprised to find the digitizer still worked fine through the tape, and it protected my fingers and no glass shrapnel. It got me through a month or so until I was able to buy a new phone (and I was able to sell it on eBay cracked taped screen and all). Thought it was a useful strategy for such situations.

That's pretty good! I was thinking of doing that, but I was just waiting for a good deal to start a new contract. I got an LG G3 for free, unlimited LTE data in my province, unlimited SMS/MMS across Canada, 1000 local daytime minutes, unlimited local evenings/weekends for $60/month (which was even cheaper when I bundled it with our landline and internet from the same provider).

The packing tape/clear tape is a great idea. I was either gonna do that or get a generic screen protector (you can buy them for the screen on a digital camera for example) and just trim it to size. Either way, it's a good idea to get by in the short term!
