worth giving up for a maxx?

first off i never called out the battery life I freely admit the battery life is far superior to anything else out there . the only point im trying to make and its one nobody here wants to admit to is the battery life on the S3 is fine for the vast majority of people . and Other than having a battery that lasts longer than a day what does the MAXX do that the s3 doesnt do better ? I use my s3 to take all the calls for my business its my work phone so it has to hold up and so far i have not had any problems making it through a normal work day 8 to 10 hours . and im not the one that started the sarcasm that was you sir in your first reply to me or thats how it came across .

It doesn't make any difference who started the sarcasm. I said you were getting offended, sarcastic and emotional. Again, you fail to see the point. I have already told you, that BECAUSE of the battery life, the Maxx does a lot of things better. The S3 might do tons of things better until it dies or needs to be recharged. Do you not see how a larger battery life can alter the way you use your phone?

You are right, the S3 will probably last the whole day for a good number of consumers. But it wont last all day for me, or other Maxx owners who have gotten used to the freedom of using and abusing your phone all day long because you don't worry about it dying. I know I can make an S3 last all day. I know I can. I just wont use it, and then it will last well into the night. But I am a heavy user and I know many others who are, and the S3 simply wont last all day for them. It's a great phone, and it will last all day for light users. It's also better than the Maxx in a LOT of ways. But not in the way that matters most to me.

You can't just say the battery is the only thing that is better on the Maxx, because that simple fact makes a lot of other things better. Everything that the S3 and the Maxx can do, the Maxx can do it longer. Simple as that. So for every task that smartphone owners need to complete using their phones, you and I can stand side by side and I will do those tasks longer than your S3 BECAUSE of the superior battery. When your S3 is dead, and my Maxx is at 40% battery...I assure you my phone will outperform the S3.

That doesn't make the Maxx better, and i'm not saying the S3 is a poor phone. I am saying that the battery makes the Maxx better for ME. So when you ask what the Maxx can do better, that is my response.

hey man its all good im happy you love your maxx and it works for you. i liked my maxx but the battery life wasnt enough to over come the software glitches i was always having . so far i havent had a issue with battery life on my s3 and although i dont have the screen on for 5hrs a day i do use it constantly throughout the day some days heavier than others and i see your point about the battery life being a limitation compared to the maxx . and of course if i do start having battery issues i can always buy a larger battery or carry a spare if need be . have a nice day peace out .

Getting back to the original question ...

... which was, "So I have the chance to get a Maxx from a friend for $200. I currently have the S3. Other than battery life, is it worth giving up the S3?", I would say that the deal isn't really worth it, because you can get a Maxx from AmazonWireless for $99 any time you want. It would be brand new, and you wouldn't be paying any tax, compared to your friend's Maxx, which is used. So regardless of what anyone thinks of how the S3 compares to the Maxx, the deal your friend is offering isn't one that you should feel you needed to jump on before it disappeared.

Now, can we please stop the pointless bickering and concentrate on the real issue, which is to prevent Apple from stifling competition and taking over the world?:p

I'm on my 3rd gs3 I may try and persuade tech support to let me try the maxx if had so many problems with this phone but I do love it ..I guess I'm just unlucky

I will say that another reason to get the Maxx is because it for whatever reason can get 4G in my house. The Samsung phones that I tried sometimes struggled to even get 3G. Everyone says to just switch to wifi in the home. But us "folk" in rural areas or not so rural areas that only have the option of comcrap with a cap on our data can't do that.

There are some things that Motorola does better than some of the other companies and the reception is one of them.

I wouldn't say you are unlucky. What problems have you seen so far? We had one at work grenade itself and the other is starting to act glitch and that guy is going to try to get a Maxx after playing with mine.

I don't think the Maxx is "perfect" but it works well for me.
