And my Verizon "3G" speeds are about 9kbps, 1X roaming on US Cellular. Your anecdotal evidence has just been countered with my anecdotal evidence.

Point taken. However, haven't you and Phil, among others, stated to choose what is best for you? In my area, anything other than LTE on att stinks.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but am I the only one that got even more excited for this phone when I heard the Galaxy S III LTE will have the same processor (and probably won't go on sale in the US for months)?

Now my worry is AT&T will start kicking us off unlimited LTE or raise the price when the next iPhone comes out and all the people that don't even know what LTE stands for (or probably even CPU) start filling up the network...

Having used Sense 4 now for a few days I can tell you it is vastly superior to Touchwiz. Touchwiz on the skyrocket even when I loaded the ics leak sucked. I didn't even seem like ics I had to you use a theme to get the functionality and feel of ics. The One X also feels like a better product the quality is top notch on the One X.

I don't thnk you have to worry about AT&T getting rid of your unlimited plan.

That'd be hard to do seeing as I don't have an att device any more. The last one I had the speeds topped out at 1.2 down. On Verizon 3g it stays constant at 1.4.

Wow a constant 1.4 hate to tell you that is slow. When was the last time you were on the AT&T 3g network? When I have ran speed tests against my Iphone 4s on AT&T versus my buddies same phone on Verizon it's been like if you ran against Bolt in the 100 meter dash not even close. The best he ever got was 2 mbs the best I got was 7.5 mbs. On average he gets 1.5 mbs my average is more then double that around 4 mbs.

Google fastest 3g network and see if you can find one article that substantiates your claim, good luck I hope you aren't on your 1.4 mbs pipe.

Since my International One X isn't working with the speedtest.net app, I used the desktop web version, and pulled down 5.5MBPS. Should I be upset? No, because I'll never be able to distinguish between 7.5 and 5.5 in real-world speeds.

Not to mention if you reran it again and again you'd probably average the same. And I'm pretty sure using the web version is bound to give you some different results anyway. But yeah, you wouldn't really ever be able to distinguish the difference, aside from the number that pops up at the end of a speed test.

Drop the attitude kid. The last time I checked the network was last week when I went to look at the lumia 900. It could not get higher than 1.2, and I'm in an LTE and HSPA+ market. Verizon's 3g is faster than anything except att LTE and T-Mobile's hspa+. You do understand that in congested areas AT&T sucks, don't you? Well, I'm in an extremely congested market for them, so its slow.

Out of curiosity I just ran speedtest on my iP4 on ATT 3G, 4-5/5 bars, in San Antonio, Texas, server was 33mi away. Getting consistent 5-6Mbps down. But I realize some places will have worse coverage or have bandwidth strains.

As far as worth switching... if you could still get unlimited data with them I would say absolutely no doubt. I have a grandfathered unlimited plan and have been fortunate enough to have over 2 years of service with them so far without a single issue. Without unlimited data well... that's up to the individual to decide if it's worth it.

Listen to Mickey (CellPhoneJunkie) - network FIRST, device second. If you have good coverage with a carrier and DON'T TRAVEL then pick whoever works for you. If you travel much, still use your phone as a phone (I do for both business and personal), then you can't beat Verizon (saving money doesn't matter if you can't use your phone). Personally, Verizon (while usually only EVDO @ 1Mbit) 3G will stream audio (music or sports), send and receive e-mail, stream Netflix well enough for a 4" WVGA screen, and always make phone calls better than my colleagues on any other carrier. At home I'm in a small town which will not get LTE for at least another year and I'm "used" to 3G speeds or wait until I'm on WiFi for anything very extensive. Verizon always gets devices "late" because CDMA is less prevalent than the GSM networks so it takes a little longer (6 months+) for them to get the "latest and greatest". While I'm sure that once I get on LTE I won't want to go back I'm not obsessed with how fast my mobile internet is - it works for what I need it to do. Also, even @ home/work my internet (DSL only) varies between 3-9 Mbit so it's not much faster - the price I pay for small town living. Finally, Verizon Customer Service (9 years with them) has been excellent - less than 5 minutes on hold MAX, always speak English (w/o a British accent) and take care of the problems. The biggest complaint is the bloatware (which will hopefully @ least be hidden when my Dinc 2 gets ICS). Do what works for you and 6 mos. from now "something Better" will be out to lust over with your One X.

There is no thing as the "perfect carrier" period. AT&T is going to suck in many areas where Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile have excellent service. Its just the opposite here for me, AT&T and T-Mobile are very good and have excellent coverage versus Verizon and Sprint. Verizon is a very good carrier but their EVDO is generally slower than AT&T's UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+. Of course if your pulling 1-2Mbps down with Verizon and barely 1Mbps with AT&T the choice is obvious.

Now I agree with the above poster about coming here and just bashing AT&T because they don't offer premium service in your area. The One X is for AT&T customers so unless Verizon customers plan on switching they really have no business here bragging about their carrier. Simple as that.

Again, this is totally subjective to you. Know one can argue with this. The OP simply wanted to know if AT&T is overall a good carrier and if switching over to the ONE X is worth it. I say yes, you say no. Fact is we're both wrong because we don't live where he/she does. What he/she needs to do is ask friends and family with AT&T and check the coverage in their most frequently visited areas, along with data speeds.
