Worth trading a N8 for the N9?

When I use another phone now, both new last year, I miss the Note's 6.4" and pen. Spoiled.

Bestbuy gave me $450 for my Note 8. Could not resist. Was not planning on upgrading but liking Note 9 just a tad better. The most thing that is making a mark is the battery life. Zero need to charge during the day. Kind of awesome.

I believe that the trade is worth it. There are things the 9 can do that the 8 cannot. The 8 is STILL a formidable phone/computer, but by dumping the Dex station for a simple proprietary Samsung dongle, Dex works even better on the Note 9. Also, one thjing I discovered by accident is that the Note 9 can connect 3 Bluetooth devices at once! Today, by ACCIDENT, I was able to connect 3 bluetooth devices to my Galaxy Note 9. Here are the bluetooth devices I connected: UE Megaboom Speaker, K480 Logitech Keyboard and an x4000b HP Mouse. All 3 worked seamlessly without conflict. In fact, I am using my Note 9 in Dex mode right now writing this.

Bell right now has a pretty good offer with an extra $200 on top of the trade-in value of a smartphone. I looked up the Note 8 and it currently is listed at $350. Which would equal $ 550. This would take care of the initial subsidy price. Where the problem lies is that the Note 8 is only two months old and trying to decide if it is even worth the early buyout fee to upgrade to the N9. To be quite honest I don't think I would get much more than that if I were to try and sell on Kijiji.

I have read the articles, scoured the forums here, and played around with the retail model at the store. Still on the fence. I know the choice is mine at the end of the day, I am just wondering from actual users who have upgraded to the Note 9, are there enough improvements to warrant the process?

If you own your N8 then I would sell it on swappa or Ebay. I sold mine on Ebay for$400

From a Note 8 owner, I’d say no. But I also say depends what it’d cost you to upgrade.

Full price? Heck no. The battery and speakers is nice but not that nice. You’re talking same argument of whether the iPhone Xs is worth the upgrade over X for almost the exact same reason and even Apple fans are saying no need.

I can get the 9 new using my Corp account for < $500. I could probably sell me Note 8 for almost the $460 I paid for it using my Corp account last year and basically a wash I guess. But just not worth the hassle. Now if I could have gone in with my coworker last month when he got two Note 9s for that $500 with the BOGO promotion, I would have for the heck of it. But I’ll save the upgrades we have on our lines and wait to see what the S10 or Note 10 will have... 7nm chip design like then X I’m guessing and under glass FPS and maybe a new triple camera setup?? I’ll upgrade for that.
