Worth trading a N8 for the N9?

Bell right now has a pretty good offer with an extra $200 on top of the trade-in value of a smartphone. I looked up the Note 8 and it currently is listed at $350. Which would equal $ 550. This would take care of the initial subsidy price. Where the problem lies is that the Note 8 is only two months old and trying to decide if it is even worth the early buyout fee to upgrade to the N9. To be quite honest I don't think I would get much more than that if I were to try and sell on Kijiji.

I have read the articles, scoured the forums here, and played around with the retail model at the store. Still on the fence. I know the choice is mine at the end of the day, I am just wondering from actual users who have upgraded to the Note 9, are there enough improvements to warrant the process?

Note 2,3,4,8 user here and I'm not bothered with the 9 just yet, spent money on the Galaxy Watch instead and will await the price drops we'll see on the Note 9 just before latest iPong hits the shelves... Black Friday... Cyber Monday... X-mas.... Note 9 plus freebies are going to good soon enough that I'm not buying now :-)

Without a doubt. Best phone ever produced. It is everything you wanted fixed or added to the Note 8, which was a fantastic device as well.

Plus it is project treble which could prove interesting in regards to software updates and development of same

I upgraded, clearing just under $400 by selling my Note8, and got the free Duo charger, Dex station, and AKG bluetooth headphones along with the Note9. So in effect, I got all that for $600, and I'm happy with the upgrade at that price. The Note9 is noticeably better.

Definitely an upgrade from a note 8..I shifted from Note 8 to S9+ and now to Note 9...I would upgraded anyway for bigger battery and stereo speakers...but the bluetooth S pen is really handy...even better fps placement is good

I recently owned a note 8 and wasn't sure if I should upgrade. I eventually did and I'm very happy I did, screen display looks better. Runs smoother, blue tooth s pen great for taking pics and I just love the stereo speakers. Plus I'm getting so much better battery life

I'm not a Note 8 user but I had the S9+. I went with the Note 9. This is my 1st Note since the Note 3. I'm glad I upgraded. There is a difference with Android 8.1 and the bigger battery. I've been averaging about 30-35 hours of battery life with 5-6 hours of on screen time. I purchased this phone for Verizon through Swappa.com for $780 about a week ago. I sold my S9+ for $565 so for $215 I was able to upgrade. I'm happy I did.

I upgraded from a Note8 even though I initially said I wasn't going to lol but all in all I am happy I did. The Note9 is truly the best phone I've had by far - larger memory in comparison to the Note8, larger RAM, slightly bigger screen, and in the color I've always wanted - blue! You won't be disappointed I don't regret moving up to the 9

I had the Note 8 as well and I had to get the Note 9. Best phone out in my opinion. I wanted the extra internal storage and the bigger battery. After playing with the S-Pen more and more I'm starting to love the Bluetooth feature of it. Having the blue version with the yellow S-Pen doesn't hurt either lol. Love that color combination. But the hottest color combination for the Note 9 and its S-Pen would be a black and red color combination....that would be FIRE!!!

I got the black note 9 after turning in my note 8 in Abuja. But was surprised to have a black s pen with black phone. I expected q different Colour

I got my note 9 (black) with a black spen- Is it Proper?. I feel it should have been a differently coloured Pen

I said I wouldn't upgrade too but I am considering it. So you went with the 512gb version to get the 8gb of RAM?

I got the 512gb for both storage and the RAM. This way I won't have to always have to worry about running out of storage with apps and such which I was getting a bit too close to tbs limit on the Note8. I've also noticed a better performance on this phone compared to my Note8

Awesome. I want the 512 as well for all the reasons you mentioned. I was just trying to justify it. You just helped. Lol. Enjoy your Note 9! Hopefully I'll be joining the club soon.

Thanks everyone this is definitely helping my decision. I will more than likely bite the bullet and trade up. Unfortunately Bell only offers the 128 gb version.

I am a sucker for new phones and the Pixel 3XL is just around the corner. However, after using the S Pen I don't think I can go without now. So here is hoping I can stick with the Note 9 for at least a year until the 10 comes out.

I'm very glad to have helped 😊😊😊 all the positive reviews here on this forum plus on YouTube has helped me make my decision as well (because at first I wasn't going to upgrade at all) and I am glad I did because I am truly enjoying my phone on sure you will too

I initially had no plans to upgrade from my Note 8 but when my carrier ran a promo offering $500 off the Note 9 for its trade in, I couldn't resist. I am very pleased with my decision as the Note 9 is everything the Note 8 should have been and more. Samsung knocked it out of the park with this one.
