Would a factory reset fully delete spyware or could it come back?

I read that even after a factory reset some data remains on the phone. Would that data be enough to reactivate spyware?

A factory reset should clear it all out. Unless the spyware made it on to the root of the phone which I wouldn't think it would. Have you tried installing a virus app and scanning your phone?

Yes, a factory reset should remove all your data including the virus. But of course you can never be 100% sure.
