Would you buy again?

Already have. I thought I had signal issues with my first one that I bought on launch day, so I sold it and bought an iPhone 6. The iPhone had issues with the hostpot for me, so I went to the Droid Turbo. Never really liked it at all and it had talk/surf issues, so I sold it and bought another G3. Every day I ask myself why I ever went away from the G3. My signal sucks at work and the iPhone 6 was able to keep a signal, so it was probably the best phone for me, but in the end I needed a phone that worked as a hotspot to and from work. At work it's not as important. The G3's a great phone and I feel the best one on the market still!

I would have chosen differently. I love the concept of the phone but it lags. Freezes when browsing more than other phones I've had. If the screen is on for more than 5 minutes it gets HOT...hotter than any other phone I've had by far.The camera is less impressive than my old galaxy 3 and galaxy 5. Maybe I've just had bad luck with mine, I'm on Verizon and seems like most people having issues are on the Verizon variant. Maybe lollipop will solve these issues for me,would like to be able to use ART and see how that goes. I will say the phone was great for the first 2 months.

I have to wonder after reading through lots of threads on this part of the forum if there might not actually be something to your carrier variant theory. I'm on AT&T and have only seen it get warm at best when charging. Otherwise there have been no alarming temperature fluctuations.

Without a doubt. I've owned nearly every high end phone since the first Droid/iPhone and the G3 is easily the best I have ever had. It's physically superior to anything else, and that is not a debate. You get a 5.5 inch screen in a super small frame, no physical button, materials are great for being plastic (love the M8 but its way too heavy and the new Samsungs are so cheaply made), the screen is incredible.

Hardware specs speaks for itself.

Software. As close to vanilla Android as you can get without buying a Nexus phone. I will never own another Samsung product until they change their skin and all the useless crap they put on their phones. The screen tap to wake is huge benefit and I cant imagine not having it and I really like the separate text box that pops up when you are browsing the web. Being able to respond or ignore without interrupting your other task is really nice. The screen created flash for front facing photos is really cool too.

Battery life...makes my past smartphones seem like a Commador 64. Off the charger at 6AM and back on the charger at midnight before bed. 90% of the time I am still at 70% battery life. If it was an unusually heavy usage day I am at 50%. Granted, I do not install junk APPS and I monitor battery usage to make sure an APP isn't smoking my battery. 99% of the time someones battery life issues can be attributed to a rogue APP.

Did I mention the screen resolution and having 5.5 inches in such a small frame?

The G3 is a rockstar.

No. I've had 2 G3s and both were returned within 2 days. No hatred of LG here. The G Flex was one of the best phones I ever had but the G3 was one of the worst. I love the hardware design of LGs and some of the features such as Knock-On but for smooth performance.... the G Flex was AWESOME. The G3 not so much. Couple that with a display that looks washed out and I was happy to take advantage the retailer's return policy.

The G3 shouldn't get that much warmer than any other smartphone. That being said, some people have had heat problems and I chalk this up to quality control.

The colors/contrast for the screen are adjustable. I deepened the colors, and added more contrast. Pretty easy really...

I never met a settings menu I couldn't whip into shape. In the G3's case, it just wasn't happening at an acceptable level for me. That and the S4 like stutter when scrolling pages or lists were deal breakers for me. I'll be very interested to see the G Flex 2.... but I'm afraid it'll be more like the G3 than the G Flex 1.

I highly doubt there will be any trace of lag on the G Flex 2 ... If there is, those developers must really stink at their jobs with that beast of a chipset to have lag on Android 5.0 .

As of today I'd buy it again. I have 2 oem lg batteries and both allow 6+ hours of screen on time. That's with gaming half the time and Pandora streaming for an hour or 2 of it.

It's awesome. Although I'm very enticed by the G flex 2, only because it's newer lol

Unless the Droid Turbo had root, or I could get an insane good deal on a Nexus 6...yes I would go with the g3. The radios are good, the camera is good, it doesn't freeze up, the battery is big and removable, and idle drain is 0.25%/hr on wifi and only 0.5% on LTE.

I definitely love the fact that LG gave many of us a free spare battery with charger. It makes the battery life even better. Plus paired with the insane deals they had on the LG G Watch this black Friday...made my transition from Motorola active notifications bearable..

I fully expect the Flex 2 to be an incredible performing phone. 810 coupled with a 1080 screen should make for lightning crisp UI performance, I'd expect best in any class. My only concern with that SOC is heat... I've been reading a lot of problems with heat dissipation with the 810, but that might just be a question of working out some of the kinks in the kernel layer.

The G3's stuttering issues were mostly related to framework coding issues related to the higher res of the screen coupled with a massive UI overhaul that LG shipped with the G3. And we here in the US kind of got screwed since the international variant got a bunch of updates to the framework that hadn't (at the time) been incorporated into the US-model builds.... My G3 stuttered a bit and I went custom-ROM hunting to resolve it... when I loaded CloudyG3... which is based off the international model, the stutters effectively went away.... the difference was striking.... not the hyperbole "OMFGKERNEL100HOURSBATTERYLIFE" statements, but there was a obvious and drastic improvement in those mundane UI tasks that sometimes caused my G3 to hiccup.

But I knew it was a software issue. Yes, the 801 could use more power when pushing the QHD, but for 99.9% of the apps out there, the GPU performance is more than enough to run well. The AOSP ROMs were really fluid when they finally came out. So I knew it would be just a matter of time before they were fixed. And the Lollipop stuff would most likely be a lot smoother.

Software issues, FIXABLE software issues ain't no thing. I am not going to disparage a phone if there are some software tweaks to iron out, as long as they are ironed out.... and Cloudy answered that question. I am not a 'run stock' kind of person and I never saw a settings screen where I didn't try to push every button.... so "I had to go adjust the screen contrast" would never in a million years go into the 'Against' column.

The G3 is a kick **** phone.. with some adjustments that I, personally, don't blink at, it went from good to great. Nice screen, great in hand, excellent performance and a great and super reliable camera. The only real 'Con' I would list is a rear facing speaker. Didn't realize how much those suck until I got my Nexus 6 and heard the difference. But that's a small issue and most certainly not something that would drive me away.

I would buy the G3 again in a heartbeat! I really like this phone and enjoy using it. Normally after about 5 or 6 months I start getting antsy for the "Next Big Thing" in smartphones and planning the whole sell one device to get the new device thing. However with the G3 that's not been happening coming up on the six month mark. Last month I went into a T-Mobile store fully prepared to walk out with the Nexus 6 but after handling the device for a few minutes I realized that I really do like my G3.

It's got the perfect (for me at least) combination of screen size to body size ratio, I didn't think I'd like the buttons on the back but I really do after using it for a while, and the camera is top notch in my book. Further, I kinda like the "skin" that LG used for the G3. Normally when I get a new Android device I'll try the default manufacturer GUI/launcher for about a week before getting ticked off and going back to Action Launcher Pro. With the G3 I've been running it stock since day one, except for the keyboard (loved the physical layout but didn't like the autocorrect getting crap wrong too often and went back to Swiftkey).

Anyone who knows me is surprised that not only have I NOT gotten a new phone yet but that I don't even feel the need to get another one any time soon.

The G3 is THAT good in my book.

Well thanks for all the opinions people :) I've just sold my note 3 so when it get parcelled up and sent off in a couple of days I'll be looking for a g3 or a opo. Played around with my wife's z3 for a while today and a 5 inch screen just isn't enough screen real estate once you've gotten used to bigger screens :)

Honestly I haven't gotten a new phone due to the G3 being overall most well rounded top end technological phone still. I love the new moto x but the battery screen and more importantly the camera is just way inferior. Now I'm just used to the G3, that I'll wait for an upgrade or if I break the screen on a drop haha (I dont use a case, but it holds up really well on drops surprisingly).

I really like the G3. However, there are days I miss my Lumia 1520! I am left wondering about the possibilities with Windows 10 mobile. Also, waiting for updates from AT&T for the G3 is frustrating.

I'm not sure that I would but I'm not sure what I would buy instead. There is a lot that LG does that I like (especially when compared to Samsung) but I don't like the G3 as much as I liked my G2.
