Would you buy again?

Just wondering if customers that own the Galaxy 6 plus edge would buy again? I am considering this phone.

You could probably keep all these questions in one thread instead of opening new ones.

I was in a position that my old LG G3 would suddenly no longer accept it's sim card. I went to the store and tried different ones but it just wouldn't recognize them. I didn't want to get another G3 so I looked around the store at different phones for at least an hour. If I had known that a) it would only be 6-months until the S7's came out or b)that Marshmallow still wouldn't be out for it going into April, or c) it would totally be removed from the store shelves already I would say that, no, I would not purchase this phone again.

I've never owned an Apple, and for what it's worth, Samsung has come a long way in producing very nice phones. But their update routines suck, especially under Verizon, but I think only the Sprint variant has been updated in the US. It sucked back when I had the Galaxy 3 and it still sucks today.

For the phone itself, I don't think the whole edge thing is as useful as it could be. I've heard that changes with MM, but I wouldn't know since I still don't have the update. The phone is fast, has a nice camera and does have pretty good battery life. It's a bit unwieldy to use one handed, and I have fairly big hands. Keyboards don't like the keys along the edge either. I've had many typing misses because of that.

I too had an lg3 where the battery life was horrible, had I known three months later Samsung would put out new phones I would have waited. I am also really disappointed with the update thing, Samsung promised to be timely with security updates but the last one I got was in December, still no mm, I think my next phone will either be an iPhone or nexus.

I agree that the camera is great. I used the edge a couple of times and no longer find it useful. The only time it comes up now is when I accidentally hit a settings tab in a app.
I'll get a phone without the edge next time.
I do enjoy the themes though.

I agree with going with the Note 5. The Edge screen is more of a novelty there is not much function available for it. My biggest gripe is the lack of good cases/holsters.

I would definitely buy 6+ again. Just like people say the edge they dont use that much but as for me the note stylus wouldn't get used much so Id just go with it again.

However the note 6 has caught my eye. Probably my next device 4000 mah battery supposed to power this device if so thats the only way I jump to S 6 note.

Can I ask why?

well with the update being delayed by VZW & the phone being discontinued & not carried by 2 of the biggest carriers in America(VZW & AT&T) It gives me some concerns for future updates.

the phone itself tho is great like gaming/watching multimedia really is great for the edge screen....I do miss the stylus at times tho and i just would rather get the Note series more likely from now on as the flagship spec galore phone from Samsung.

Since I have the international F variant, updates are a bit faster (had marshmallow since last month) and bloat is only Samsung sided. That said, I'm still in love with this phone like the first day, and if I could snatch it in the 400€ range I would probably pick it up again. The screen is one of the reasons why, its just amazing

Sure, it's been a great phone since day one and continues to be.
Not sure what life changing expectations people are having over the update.....
It does everything I need it to do and very well at that.

I would buy it again. Just hate how a new phone comes out every month it seems and then Verizon forgets about it like a red headed stepchild.

People, or at least myself, aren't worried about updates changing our lives. It really is a matter of security. In this day and age where things are updated on a continual basis, an update every 5+ months is unacceptable.

This update, however, does add some significant functionality to the edge screen though which is a nice bonus, as well as battery and other benefits.

Glad you added "at least yourself", it would have been very presumptuous to speak on everyone's behalf.
Update obsession has been around long before the addition of security patches and updates.
Go and look at any thread from the last 5 years regarding "updates" and you will see that the hysteria was alive and well.

In that regard, this is a rather substantial update though. People should be excited for it and what new things it brings. Are they going to change your life? Not likely. Still, discounting it as an obsession means you'd still be happy to be using Android 1.0? Unlikely as well.

My update "obsession" is over now. I've switched to an Iphone 6s, and really enjoying it as well, and my Verizon 6 Edge+ is going to be sold. To be honest, it was too big for my tastes any ways and it's been nice to come back to more of a standard size.

Well considering that I was never directly referring to you....just commenting on what I see and know to be true.
Hard to discount the obvious but willful ignorance is a necessity for some.
No, I would not be happy with 1.0 and it's quite a leap for you to suggest considering the content of this conversation (a little passive, aggressive jab, thanks...but obvious)
My point is that the S6 Edge Plus when new (just a few months ago) was the best thing we had ever seen. Now (again, just a few months in) it is not worth the box it came in....??? What's changed so drastically? The phone is still the same and I'd be willing to bet everyone is still using it like they did the first day. Even more, after the update I am relatively certain that everyone will continue to use the phone as they did before.
No, I do not waste a second obsessing over an update...it will come when it comes. My S6 Edge Plus is as good as it was the first day and I am looking forward to any and all improvements but it's current state does not diminish in any way my enjoyment of this great device.
So again (back to the OP's topic) yes, I would buy this phone again (update or not).
