Would you ditch your Incredible for an Evo?

I wish I had a spare evo to mess with just to see if I can get it to work on Verizon. Does anyone know if you dial ##778 if it enters epst mode? Maybe some programming there can do it.

He11 no !!!
Unless it got a 4.3" OLED display !!
The current LCD screen on the EVO blows after being spoiled to OLED.

You have to consider the network. I think if the Evo was launched on VZW, it may do better than a launch on Sprint.

Definitely not. I would however ditch the incredible for a Fascinate if the Fascinate didn't have that bing crap and lack of google search and some of the other issues. haha.

I really am happy with the HTC Incredible.

I agree, but I sure would like a front-facing camera.

I know several people with EVO's and iPhone. Not one of them use that front facing camera. And only a few have tried the video call crap and said it's something they don't use. I'm sure somebody uses it, but I know I wouldn't.

Yes, it does enter EPST mode. If you want to make changes, click on "Edit mode", then enter 000000 for the password. This is something that Verizon walked me through, so there's nothing illegal or contract-voiding by simply going into this mode. If you make changes that differ from Verizon specs, however, that could be another story.

I was wondering if the evo has this mode.

Theoretically, you should be able to provision an EVO on VZW. It falls under Customer Provided Equipment.

The stores won?t do it, but if you call Customer Care and give the numbers from the back of the phone it should be able to work. Sprint and VZW are both CDMA. I?m not sure if they use the same 3G, but I?m pretty sure they use the same 1x data. 4G is obviously a no go. Voice, SMS, MMS and 1G should work.

I used to get non-VZW Nokia?s and Erickson?s on VZW that way all the time.
There are a few forms that need to be faxed back and forth as well if I remember correctly, and as far as support goes, you're pretty much on your own.

Not likely. The Evo/Desire HD is a nice phone, but too big for me personally.
