Would you like to have Sprint ID in your Samsung Epic 4g?

To me, Sprint ID represents the height of arrogance on the company's part. It says to me, the consumer, that rather than having spent their time and energy on a working Froyo build, or fixing the problems in Eclair, or making TW not suck quite so hard, they instead spent their time figuring out how we can get bloat onto our devices more efficiently.
I like Sprint Football Live.
I like Sprint Navigation better than Google Navigation.
I like Amazon Mp3.
The only items I want to remove but can't are NASCAR, Sprint TV and Sprint Zone. I also like TW much better than the crappy stock android launcher. And have no problems with eclair.

I never said I would keep sprint id but I should have that choice. I don't mind the phone coming with bloatware as long as it can be removed.
As for me reconsidering android, perhaps you should reconsider opening your mouth.

So by your own admission, they spent their time and energy investing in crapware that you don't want and cannot remove. Preferring TW to stock is a normative statement and has no bearing on its objective quality. And again, the fact that you had no problems with Eclair does not mean nobody else did.
Partially correct... I liked most of the bloatware. Only 3 items I would like removed. I have said from the start I like the free software and like that it had preloaded apps but also said from the start, we should have the right to remove what we don't want

Sprint ID is a kick in the face to high end devices as far as I'm concerned. If your into bloatware and all that garbage then it should be left for the mid ranged devices. I would say if a poll was started I would think a very high percent of high end device buyers would rather not have Sprint ID or bloatware on their device. That is why the Nexus S is such a big seller, not because of the carrier its on but because its pure Google. There is no garbage in there to slow that baby down. I believe all high end devices on all carriers should follow the same trend.
Bloatware, well that is a joke period. If they want to put it in there then fine, but at least install it to "data" only so it can be uninstalled by the user but they don't. Since EB13 was released there has been so many new users to the rooting community, why? Not just to run a custom ROM but to be able to remove the bloat, the garbage.... People are just tired of running it.. You strip out the garbage on a ROM and you loose in the neighborhood of 40-60 megs of trash. That results in a better performing ROM with less stuff for the system to move threw to run. Not to mention you end up with more device memory and better battery life.

I'm all for CyanogenMod7 getting done, then we can run what we should be running... Pure Google, Pure Android....

Hey Paul, I agree with you again. It is not fear that we have to pay a large amount of money in order to get a good phone such Epic 4g. We should decide what to install in our phone.
No. They should just put all the crap they "offer" in the android market for sprint customers to access. That way people can download it if they want but don't have to be stuck with it.
I really, really hope somebody at Sprint and someone at Samsung sees this poll. And it's not because I don't think Sprint ID should be created, or even preloaded necessarily - only locked in. Baking in some of these 'features' represent a fundamental arrogance on the part of the manufacturer, and a minunderstanding of the very philosophy behind Android - the concept that software should be open and free to all to modify as they wish.
I jumped ship from iOS purely because I hated its closed ecosystem. Imagine my disappointment upon discovering that my Epic, like my iTouch, was in many ways locked in appearance, in which apps were installed, and in how I can customize its utility.

Don't punish us for the ignorance of those unwilling or unable to figure out their own products. I have done a little research and according to Sprint, you are not suppose to be able to remove Sprint ID form the phone. But we have all heard something like that before. But if this is the case, then Sprint should have to offer an update that does not include Sprint ID. This is not something I originally signed up for and it is not part of making my phone connection or data service any more reliable and has nothing to do with the core workings of the phone. It is something that actually makes my phone less reliable and takes up valuable space that I paid for not Sprint. And is a digital domain that I own where Sprint has decided to setup shop for their own purpose and possibly selling me more wares and I haven't given them the clearance for. So there for if Sprint is going to rent my space on my phone , it is going to cost them not me. So in conclusion, we can all set around and complain or we can take them to court in a class action Law suite demanding settlement for damages against Sprint for illegal ingress and egress on a private digital domain without the sole consent of said owner..................
