Would you recommend the Nexus or a different Verizon phone?

Not gonna put down the other phones on VZW, just going to say that I've enjoyed my experience with the GNex. But do your research and weigh the pro's and con's of each device (features, accessories, etc.) and make a solid choice for yourself. That's the best way to go about it.

So far I like it.

I'm missing a few features that were on my last two phones -
  • Scheduling exchange to go from push to sync only at intervals after hours to reduce battery drain.

  • You can change the sync frequency in exchange by:
Settings, accounts &sync, select your exchange email, account settings then select your exchange email account and not the general settings. Under data usage select inbox check frequency and set it it push or whatever you desire.

Yes. I miss on my HTC and Samsung phone that I could have it automatically only poll check after work hours instead of be on push - without having to change it every night as it would automatically change from push to only check every 30 minutes. This would automatically save battery life without me having to remember to change it and going through a bunch of steps each night.

IMO, Try a different one if you are going to root to fix the 4.0.2 issues b/c it looks like Big Red is having more say in the updates than previously thought. It'll probably be end of april - begining may before an update gets to those who don't use a custom.

I would be the owner of a rezound, as my DINC was flawless.....The GN and it's problems is pushing me away from android.

Months without a desk or car dock, if I knew that when I bought the Gnex I would have passed. I still like the phone but damn!
