Would You Still buy a V10 Today?

Honestly, I like my V10. I've had it since November or December time period. Unlike most, I prefer an LCD screen vs the hyper discoloration that Amoled screens seem to display in. I love the size & additional heft of it from the steel body. It just feels right in your hand; I can't really explain it. Like others, I really wanted 1) removable battery and 2) expandable memory & the V10 fit the bill better than anything else on the market at the time. Having said that, the phone is 7 months old & was released w/ a processor that was already a step behind the fastest processors. Personally, I'd look elsewhere based purely on this reason. That is, unless you are looking specifically to buy an older model phone at a lower price. If that's the case, I'd say you would be hard pressed to find a better phone that isn't too far behind current flagships. Also, the AT&T retail price you quoted is BS. Go buy it somewhere else for $200-300 below their price & put it on your AT&T acct.

I'm like you, I am not impressed with the amoled screens and have had my fair share of them including the note 5 that I gave my wife to get this phone.

As to the previous poster that longed for a larger battery, there are plenty of 3900mah batteries available for it as well as a wireless back that works for it.

I've had most of Samsung Galaxy phones all the way back to the Captivate and I am completely over them. They do have a lot of good things but I'm not swayed by overblown color spectrums on their screens and if you want to bump up the color spectrum on it download the hidden control app on the play store for it to tweak it some.

This phone is a excellent buy and gets good battery life provided you go about tweaking things that eat the battery and in 20 seconds I can have a fully charged battery running it whereas no Samsung phone will be.

No phone will ever be perfect for everyone but I know that for many people they just don't know how to get the most out of it too or if they are just used to a different type of phone.

As an audiophile (on a budget), that only wants to carry one device, the V10 is still the best phone for the job. The audio of the V10 through good headphones is awesome. I don't even use my desktop DAC/amp headphone setup anymore.

The HTC 10 may be close now though, but I'd still rather have the V10 for other reasons.

Only phone I would get instead is the HTC10. Metal unibody design, beautiful display, near stock and a better size for me. But of course I still love the V10, and the 10 has some quirks as well

I still like the Icon, what a great phone. Maybe some day MS will get apps so I can go back to Windows Phone. :) But in the mean time, I am using the V10 and really like the phone. the battery life could be better but everything else is great. Camera, speed and fingerprint reader. I am a heavy user of the phone so maybe that's why the battery life isn't very good for me. Bu the fact that I can swap out the battery is a huge plus.

Yeah and the fact that you CAN replace a broken battery is a huge plus for me, because I tend to keep phones as long as possible.

I'm with you 100 percent. I have several batteries. This is still the best overall android phone in my opinion.

When I purchased mine from TMO, it listed at $599.99. There was an $80 discount, so it only cost me $519.99. It was a great deal and I have no regrets. As of today, I might wait to see what its successor has to offer. But barring dramatic enhancements, I'd still get the V10.

7 days ago I couldn't tolerate not being able to stream my music to my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado High Country and went through hours of the work arounds and phone calls to AT&T and LG, that and the fact that they removed the options to get into the factory recovery on it. So reluctantly I got a new s7e as a replacement for it.

The amoled screen on it was beautiful, much more than my Note 5 that I gave my wife when I got my v10 and even the edge capabilities weren't as gimmicky as I had thought initially.

The real issue with the Snapdragon version of this phone was how music truly sounds on it without a good Bluetooth apt-x headset and just how crappy the speaker sounds when turned up loud.

Earlier today I was listening to it with the supplied headset and it was horrendous and that is the honest truth. I didn't think it was this bad with the apt-x headset but dear God for those who don't have any I really feel sorry for.

The AT&T store manager and staff went way beyond the call and allowed me to actually try a brand new v10 to see if it would work in my truck since the nib v10 hadn't gotten any updates on it yet... It worked great and now I am very happy with it.

The international s7e isn't like this and is a great phone BTW but the Snapdragon version is just plain awful for music and the speaker.

I took my Sennhiemer Momentums with me and let my ears judge as well as the staff there... If this v10 hadn't of worked I would have gone with the g5... But after listening to both side by side the v10 is certainly the clear winner for music.. I listened to the note 5 as well as the HTC 9 since they don't carry the 10 and while both were very good... the v10 is still the best.

This phone isn't perfect and I doubt seriously if I allow any updates on it since of previous experiences but that is perfectly fine with me since it does everything I want it to for now.

Maybe when N is released they will have the update issues fix but I won't jump to update it till I know it will work 100 like it should.

So... Would I buy one today... Yes and I did... Again
