Would you trade the Thunderbolt for the Droid Charge?

Absolutely not. So far, the Charge seems like an overpriced, more cheapo plastic phone than the Bolt. I personally don't get picky over aesthetics since I always use a case anyways, but I don't want my phone to feel or look it's made out of the cheapest materials possible. I'm also more than well aware in my hardware experience that benchmarks are not the be-all end-all of whether a device a device will perform; HOWEVER, it has to jump out at you when something like the Charge performs this poorly in every benchmark (except gaming in Smartbench, which still isn't impressive). Something clearly has to be off for this device to perform worse than a stock Droid X and barely better than a Galaxy S. If I had to guess, I doubt Sammy properly optimized the kernel (or really any part of software).

Which leads to my second point, that many of the people on here wanting a Charge defend that developers will come up with custom software for them (since we know Samsung won't update the thing). It will undoubtedly happen, but considering how little hype the phone is getting I have to question if the dev community will be like the Fascinate (small and brief). The Bolt's community seems to be a continuation from the great DInc dev community, so I feel safe that there will be great software options for a long while on the Bolt.

I was waiting for a HTC phone like the TB, I had a Samsung i760 and will never own another Sammy again.
Interesting that we both moved from the same Samsung phone. Though i must say that i still, to this day, luv my i760. In fact it is now at my nightstand as a WiFi only device and expensive alarm clock : )

OH, my vote... No way would i trade in my Tbolt. ~10 days in and it is a great device. ~2 days between charges and plenty of time to do all it is designed to.

I would never trade in the thunderbolt for the charge

I got my thunderbolt a few days ago and I love it. It was a little buggy setting it up and putting in the update but it's fine now. I personally believe without going into the whole story that if you uninstall voice search up date the GPS and Voice reconition will work much better and there will be no sudden shut offs

I love everything about the thunderbolt the call quality, the speed of the internet the sense, and most of all NO LAG DUE TO ENOUGH MEMORY (FOR NOW) the charge only has 512 meg's vs the bolt has 768. Truth be told if you use the phone as a normal device instead of playing with it all day long the battery is reasonable for me. However I did purchase the extended just incase I want to play more than usual.

Quick note I got the phone froom Best Buy I'm happy with that desision If you go for the oringal best buy price the phone is $699.00 They will match Verzions price at $569.00. But if you purchase it at Verizon you are stuck with there stupid decieving return policy that make them in my opinion very un ethical. which is called the worry free guarantee. With Verizon you buy the phone you only have 14 days to try it if you don't like it you can return it for a $ 35.00 restocking fee (even if it has bugs) or you can exchage it one time and if you don't like that phone you are stuck with it. In addtion Verizon writes down every call that is made and every sales and return transaction so they can read the history and decide how they want to deal with you. So if you have hearing issues and you need to try out three phones before you get one that is compatable Verizon will give you a very hard time.

Best buy gives you 30 days and you can exchage it as often as you would like or get refunds and buy other phones.

Truth be told I'm not into musical phones but with the lack of quality control and there is so much that can occur outside that does not occur in the store I think it's important you get the best new warrentee going. especally if you are blind about the subject. If you know nothing about the phone and have heard some bad reviews and some good ones I'd rather pay a little more (if I have to to make sure there are no problems or the problems can be tolerated). and 30 days I think is enough time unless if 4 months from now they come out with a bomb of an update and your phone is bricked but everything in life is a risk

Let me ask this if the quality control is so good why did Verizon just lower there 30 day policy to 14 days? think about it. Anyway i love the bolt and it's for keeps

Well said on all accounts. They've taken away the one year contracts, eliminated the NE2, raised subsidized prices for last years hardware and expect you to accept it. Unfortunately for many, they're the only real option for a usable network.

Thanks! I've always wondered about their return policies, but say if you don't like your phone and don't want any of the phones at best buy, do they force you to buy one?

I will trade my Thunderbolt for anything (on Verizon) that I think is better than my TB as soon as (whatever it my be) it is proven in real world use.

Not a fan of Samsung, will only buy HTC devices from now on... maybe Motorola. Don't like physical hard keys on a phone, I prefer the capacitive touch screen buttons so that alone will not make me ever want the Charge.

In defense of the memory issue , go check out the video of my rom there is absolutely no lag.its a touchwiz issue. Everyone is hung up on the size of the memory when its a higher quality. running similar set up on my fascinate it could not keep up with my charge and they have the same size memory
