Wow! No Google warranty unless phone is purchased in Google Store!!

Yeah, some folks are gluttons for punishment.

Of course. If you want to close your eyes to common sense and insist on getting less for your money, you are entirely free to do so. Just the thought of having to debloat a pure google phone makes me laugh, but help yourself. Free country, capitalism, that sort of thing.

I do find it funny that the "I dont care about update speed, I am ok with bloatware" crowd is hanging in the Pixel/Nexus area of town. If you didn't care about getting a 'pure' google experience, there are many many better phones on the market than the Pixel. An S7 / S7E is a way better phone in many respects, HTC10 may be a better package as well. Hell, my old Honor 8 had a lot to offer at half the price. A google phone, and the Pixel is about purity - if purity doesn't mean anything to you, you should be shopping elsewhere.

Anyhow, feel free to buy the Pixel from Verizon and pay more to get less. Good luck.

1. I haven't rooted a phone since my HTC evo. So I could care less about a locked bootloader.
2. 3 apps is hardly bloatware. 2 of which I use anyway
3. It was just announced that the updates will come through Verizon but at the same time as Google.
4. Convenience of having the payment on my monthly Verizon bill.

So not really sure how anyone who chooses to buy the phone from Verizon is getting less.

So your idea of "common sense" involves basing my purchases on what other people want instead of what I want. In my opinion the Pixel offers more than any of those other phones, that's why I'm buying it. I have never once mentioned anything about "pure" anything, I see what the Pixel offers and its what I want. But saying "If purity doesn't mean anything to you, you should be shopping elsewhere" is one of the most nonsensical things I've ever heard. If I don't care about expandable storage should I pass on every phone with a microsd slot? If I have no plans of getting my phone near water should I pass on every phone with waterproofing? Should I pass on every phone that has wireless charging if I'm not going to use it? If we go by your "common sense" then nobody should ever buy any phone because I guarantee nobody uses every single feature on any phone. I'm not going to shop elsewhere just because I'm not interested in one aspect of a phone.
So thanks, but I'll pass on your version of common sense.
But luckily we're each allowed to have our opinion and completely ignore anyone else's opinion that we feel is asinine.

If you're not rooting the phone, I don't see much of a difference in benefits with Google vs Verizon. All the negatives are being completely blown out of proportion, and it's really a matter of convenience and what consumers will find comfortable for their own situation.

-Bloat can be removed

I ordered from Google but other than (possibly) delayed updates there would be no other reason for me *not* to order from Verizon.

Given Verizon's track record, there is no "maybe" about it - the updates WILL be delayed. I have no doubt that this is one of the reasons Google insisted on maintaining the ability to sell phones directly.

You must also be fine with:
3) Bloatware
4) Absolutely non-sensical swaps of google's apps with Verizon's own bullcrap. I had a Note 7 till they took it away and the Verizon install/build of the software was hilarious (I am not on Verizon, just watched my friends)
5) Locked boot loader

Basically, you are forgoing every advantage of getting a vanilla Nexus / Pixel phone by buying it from Verizon. Carriers selling phones and thinking their customers are too dumb to realize what they are getting is such an outdated concept. The world has moved on.
5 is the only true one.

Buy it directly from Google. It's understandable since its their flagship phone, and such services are not available from other dealers. Why take the chance,on a big investment?
