In it the author identifies the AT&T S4 32Gb model as "The 32GB variant introduced by the carrier is an exclusive offer by the service provider..."

Now, very often exclusive offers come with time frames and restrictions. I'm hoping AT&T paid Samsung a pretty chunk of change to get a few weeks of exclusivity of 32Gb S4's !!

I'm trying !!! haha

Well, in this case the price has dropped relatively quickly, but one thing I often point out to my friends who say, "Why did you buy it now? Don't you know it will be much cheaper if you wait and buy it later?!?" is that while that is true, I'll also be due for an upgrade much sooner than those who wait, and my phone less likely to be as outdated two years from now. (not that I ever wait a full 2 years).

I ended up using my upgrade with this deal (was for Father's Day), and traded the gift card to someone for cash. Boom, $118.

The best part, I ended up selling my old iPhone 4 for $200. $80 profit for a monster phone upgrade? I'll take that any day of the week
