Setup was SO easy! I plugged it in and got a notification on my 6p asking if I want to set it up. After that it's as easy as Chromecast. And just like Chromecast it uses your stored wifi password. Speaker sounds great (as good, maybe a little better than echo). It actually responds to requests better than echo which I seem to have to call on several times to activate.

I like that tapping the top pauses playback. And Google play music support makes it a million times more useful imho. And the packaging is really nice. Surprisingly I haven't seen an unboxing. It feels very premium for such a low price.

Hopefully my pixel xl will get here soon now!

Thank you for sharing your experience. How far away can you get from the Google Home and have it respond to voice commands?

Do you have a chromecast ? If so have you tried telling home to cast something to the TV?

I have 3 and it worked just fine. Just tell it which to send to and it does. Only issue tho. It won't play purchased content. That needs a fix!

Awesome. I hope it works as well with my Vizio P65. I saw your other post about it not playing payed content. Are you telling it to play on Youtube or Play Movies? Did they provide a list of commands you could use ?

It is young and I bet Google already has plans in the works to add support for other services, very soon :)

I am really looking forward to being in the kitchen, realizing I need to get something at the store and just saying "Ok Google" add Ketchup to Grocery List. and it just adding it to my Grocery list in Google Keep :) Simple things like that, that do not require me to have to go to the other room to get my phone and unlock it. :P

I haven't been able to use it with my Vizio E50. My home app on my phone sees the E50 as a cast enabled device, but I can't get the Home units to cast to it.

Did you have the Vizio on while you set the Home up? I turned on all my Cast targets while I was setting up my Home so they'd be visible during that page of the setup process.

I have been shockingly surprised. I have a small 3-bedroom condo (just under 1,100 square feet). I put the Google Home in my kitchen on the counter that juts out a little bit into the dining area (not quite a seating counter but great place to drop keys, purse etc.). GH can hear me from everywhere. I can command it from my office which is probably the furthest away... Even when sitting at my computer facing away from the speaker. I can command it while lying in bed but I can't hear its responses too well. Which is fine because I'm usually just turning off lights. I am concerned, however that I can probably initiate it from OUTSIDE my condo entry door. It's closer to that door than my office and it's not a soundproof door. I wouldn't care if I could set it up to only recognize my voice (like on my phone). I'm in a secure building so am not overly concerned but they definitely need to do something w voice recognition. Voice recognition might also be a good way for multi user households to be able to transition from one account to another. Guest mode could be used for when you want someone else to be able to play with it.

My guess is nothing that needs security will be able to be accessed. For instance, with my Echo and alarm.com, I'm allowed to lock my doors and even set my alarm. However, you're not allowed to disarm the alarm or unlock the doors because of the security risk. If someone yelling from outside got in by just saying, unlock my doors. That'd be a huge problem.
