Wow

In the settings there is something called pixel tips which is very good and could potentially act as a high level manual. It lets you interact with the device, has screenshots, video and simulate. Just search the words "pixel tips" in the settings.

See that's the rub.... you need an instruction manual to tell you how to access the instruction manual lol. Nowadays phone manufacturers assume you're born knowing how to use their phones....or they figure you'll stumble along and possibly get help from someone or look on the internet. It's a lot cheaper than supplying some kind of manual for folks who are getting into a smartphone for the first time. My dad tried a smartphone, and even with my help he returned it and will never own another. And he loves reading up on his new devices....when he has a manual. One of probably many lost customers.

Do you think a car manufacturer could get away with not supplying an owners manual even though cars pretty much all do the same things.... just like smartphones?

I agree there should be a manual provided with all products. For menthe tips came up/popped up on their own I didn't go looking for them. Not sure if they pop up when you first setup the phone, regardless a manual should be provided.

It does pop up when you first set up the phone but the app is also always there in the app drawer unless you disable it.

I like my 4 XL, but also recognize there is a lot more Google can improve on. More so than the rest of the competition.

To be quite frank, I'm very interested in the S20; I'm reading headlines that Samsung devices are getting security updates faster than Pixel devices. Immediate updates in the Android world is the cornerstone of a Google Pixel device. I mean, how can anyone possibly say Google can't do better?

Agree on the S20. Looks like a very promising device.

As for security updates, it's true. Samsung been on fire lately with monthly security patches being release on day one of the month. My note 10+ got updates for November and December before my pixel did.

Also, Samsung rolled out Android 10 extremely fast this year and months earlier when compared to previous years. They have come along way for sure and seems like they are going to hit 2020 hard early on with S20.

My car came without a paper manual but they did a great job of incorporating it into the onboard display.

No manual comes with a Tesla. Go figure. Nada. Not even where to put in windshield wiper fluid.

Oh man my dad ain't gonna be happy to hear about that LoL.
Well I'm not saying they all don't come with a manual but 2019 Grand Cherokee doesnt. The onboard manual is pretty good actually..... just can't take it with you. I believe I can pull it up on my phone as well

Biggest manual out there is just a quick Google search. That's my go to manual for anything I want to know. I'm never going to look thru some paper manual for anything.

is this phone so mixed? I'm on the pixel 1 and will eventually need an upgrade...pixel 4 price drop or waiting to see 4a? I love my pixel, too bad the security updates are done with and age will set eventually.
