Wrong notification sound

I have a new Note 10. I have individual notifications set for most of my contacts in Android Messages. Unfortunately, when I receive text messages, I only hear the general system notifications. I have never had this problem on another phone, including my S10

I've not run into that issue. Did you check in AM to make sure they're set properly. On the individual thread tap on 3 dots>Details>Notifications. I had to reset all mine after leaving the beta version of AM and back down to the official

In the messages app you need to go into each contact in the app and specify which sound. Contact sound settings no longer applies. It is another step to do, but hey if I only wanted one sound I would still be using Apple.
