Xfinity Mobile existing line and Samsung unlocked version Note 10+ ?

Well I will find out tomorrow. If it doesn't work I am thinking about trying Google Fi. If I lose a couple features, so be it. I don't make a lot of calls so if I lose wifi calling, not a huge deal.

Give us all the deets tomorrow please! I don't get my phone until 8/22.

So I took the phone to Xfinity today. They can't do it the "right" way until Friday when its actually released. But the guy said just switch the SIM and then come in Saturday and we'll take care of everything on the back end. The SIM switch worked. Haven't played with it much yet to see if everything works. Currently doing smart switch so I will report more later when I have a chance to mess around.

Everything seems to be working fine except the wi-fi calling. The toggle is there but it won't activate when you turn it on. Visual voicemail works (had to download the app again) the auto switching from LTE to xfinity hot spot works. talk and text work fine. It does still say I have a Note 8 in my xfinity account. Overall i would say a success. Not having wi-fi calling doesn't bother me.

So were they able to fix the wifi calling for you?

Yes, we did a reset of the network settings on the phone. Did not take care of the issue where my phone shows up in their system as my Note 8. Its a whole convoluted process with an unlocked phone from Samsung and might take an hour or two, so since everything was working fine we just skipped it. The only issue that might cause is if i ever want to switch plans (which I don't plan on doing).

He said I could call Samsung and get them to do something to make the phone a Verizon phone rather than unlocked, then the IMEI would show up in their system as compatible. Screw it, everything works so it's fine the way it is.

I bought a Note10 Plus to use on Xfinity Mobile and establish a wireless account with them since I already have their home service bundle. Xfinity's been good to me. In that I mean that you get what you pay for and I've been satisfied with the whole Xfinity/Comcast experience right along for 17 (yes, 17!) years of unbroken service.

At some point I'll migrate the three lines on my Verizon account (three Verizon-branded devices) over to Xfinity Mobile but there's no rush. I want to preserve my Verizon phone number that I've had since May of 2000 when I started out as a Sprint customer.

You shouldn't have any issues bringing a phone from Verizon, the issue arises when its an unlocked phone directly from Samsung. (i'm sure they would rather you buy the phone from them, so they say it won't work). I'm just going to be happy with a wireless bill thats 12 bucks a month (45 when you add on my phone payment to Samsung). But thats better than 104 a month for ATT and a Note8 payment.

So far everything seems to be working just fine on my phone. I moved the SIM card for my Note 8 to the Note 10 plus. I have access to Wi-Fi calling and vo LTE. The only two things that seem to be an issue at this point is that Xfinity still thinks my device is a note 8 on their device list, and my voicemail isn't working. But the voicemail apparently hasn't worked since June on my note8 either.

Yep It will say Note 8 until they ever fix the issue of "not being able to bring unlocked direct from samsung phones" The store said its not a bog deal unless you go and try to change plans, then it might be an issue at which point they can try to fix it with a long process.

As far as the voicemail goes. When i did the SIM switch and did the smart switch to transfer everything from the Note 8. The visual voicemail app had disappeared. I downloaded and installed it again and the visual voicemail worked for me.

So, I went to an XFINITY store last week and was told VEHEMENTLY that "my system says a Note 10 won't work so it won't work", by the small minded rep. When I offered to show him this and other threads PROVING they work, he simply kept pointing to the screen like a trained elephant. Needless to say, I utilized an older phone to enter an IMEI online, and ordered the SIMs (wife has an Apple device so that was no issue). They arrived yesterday, and worked within 2 minutes of SIM swap. VM and wifi calling are both functional. The question is, do I waltz into that store and show the rep he was a moron? I think I can be nice about it, but I really want to prove my point.

Well Xfinity mobile sells Note 10s so obviously it works on the system. They're not set up to accept note 10s outside of their inventory, which admittedly is ridiculous. I swapped my SIM card immediately from my Note 8 and it works fine, with one exception. I had a bad sim card with my Note 8, so the same problem exists with the Note 10 and they won't replace the SIM card because technically my Note 10 is rogue. So no visual voicemail from Xfinity, but I've found a workaround through Google Voice.

I just added an Xfinity line and went in with an iPhone but their sim works in my note 10 and pixel 2xl

I purchased a Samsung unlocked aura blue 10+ on the pre-order. The reason for this is the 350 trade in (200 more than xfinity) and the 200 bucks in freebies (2 cases and a smart things Camera)

Xfinity says you can't BYOD to an existing line. The techs on Xfinity forums say it might work, but you might be missing some features like wi-fi calling, VOLTE, etc. not a big deal. Others have said they said the same thing for the S10 but it worked for them.

I went to the store today and the manager said they can make it work as long as its CDMA unlocked. I looked at the specs and there are a bunch of CDMA listings on the network.

I guess I'm going to take a chance. If it doesn't work I'll return the phone and just keep using my Note 8 until they get the BYOD Android thing all worked out. Maybe wait for the S11. If it works, great!!

The reason I am with xfinity is because I use less than a GB of data a month and my bill is 12.00 a month.

Anyone else taking the chance?

iPhones no is not a problem if byod to Xfinity.
They aren't working anything out. They just want iPhones or for you to purchase a phone though them.
It's an unsaid bait and switch sort of thing.
At one time they wasn't taking any Android byod and now they seem to still try the bs.
Hope it works out 👍

I love their service I must say.
I love the fact you can control what you want to spend in data even though I use unlimited.

The other phone my granddaughter uses is by the gig. Keep it under 100 MBs you just pay for the phone. It's an A50 and only cost 5 bucks a month.
Again hotspots everywhere and never hardly any dropped calls.

Best thing I ever done was move to Xfinity

Plus when I originally signed up I got two $250 gift cards 3 months later.
They came in handy at the shore.

Xfinity doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. Unlocked and or carrier note 10's will not work they will tell you they are not compatible so they can not create the line with a note 10 imei. I had to create a new line with a compatible device, then flash XAA android 10 stock to my device, and it was able to immediately recognize the sim and allow registration for wifi calling/volte
