Question Xiaomi 14 or Samsung s24+??

Hi, I need help choosing my next phone.

I can't decide between Samsung s24+(exynos) - 860$ (plus I would need to buy charger) and Xiaomi 14 - 780$.

Both phones are great but also both have some issues. Samsung has exynos instead of snapdragon and Xiaomi has this fogging camera problem. S24 has less memory than Xiaomi 14 while it is more expensive - 256 vs 512. In every other aspect both phones are fantastic.

Also I don't really care about the OS, I used oneui in past and now I use miui, so I can adapt to both. ALTHOUGH I find hyperos a little bit more clean and smoother.

I want advice on these. I'd appreciate objective reasoning. Which one would you choose?

I'm not sure I can do objective reasoning, particularly without all the facts.. your location, prices new in box locally...

All I can offer is my considerations based on my little market knowledge and 4 years Xiaomi brand experience.

The fog thing does throw a spanner in the works as the Xiaomi 14 would otherwise be my first choice by a slim margin. I am used to the UI, appreciate the new long support package, I am tempted by the 6.4 - ish size after 4 years with 6.67 @ 220 gms, and they have finally added display out support with the USB 3.1 / 3.2 port.

I would have to tip you towards the S24 Plus though, just. Great support, that's a good price - yeh the Exynos version comparison (I'm UK) I didn't go into a whole lot this year, but if it doesn't drain the battery too much and it's smooth to use it would do. The benchmarks are not too dissimilar, iirc.

The camera fog: I think it seems to only happen in cold weather, but it's a shame they haven't addressed it directly, lowered the prices, or promised no quibble returns (although I think they provide a premium warranty for Xiaomi models anyway).
