Just picked up the Xoom a couple of days ago to try it out after trying out the Ipad 2. So far I love it waaaaay more than the Ipad 2, but I couldn't help but think I should wait for Sammy's new 10.1 inch tab. What do you guys think, should I take it back and wait to see if I like Samsung's new tab or keep the Xoom?

I can always re-buy the Xoom if I dislike the 10.1 galaxy tab.

I had similar concerns. I bought the wifi xoom today from best buy knowing that I can return it within 30 days for a full refund and no restocking fee. Its a no risk scenario. I figure within 30 days we should know more about the samsung and also find out about other honeycomb tablets.

I'm thinking about getting the Sammy 8.9" tab, honestly, but I'm willing to go to Costco and get the Xoom wifi to try for 90 days.

All things being equal, I think the 8.9" is the best compromise plus the Super PLS screen on the Sammy is really nice. I also think the USB functionality is a huge plus for Sammy.

Read the reviews on the Samsung devices and you'll stick with the xoom.

Lol yeah I know all about Samsungs track record because my gf had a fascinate but now is the proud owner of the Thunderbolt....thanks to me lmao....anyways, I really like the way the screens look on the Galaxy tabs, if I'm not happy I'll go back to Xoom, but what if HTC releases a 10.1 incher? That'd be insane.

There haven't been any reviews on the new tablets, and the 8.9" tab looks very nice.

Sammy will have the best screen and also the lighest/thinnest device, but likely the worst software support. However these tabs are all rooted and rom'd up anyway so that's moot.

The touchwiz ux they put on there looks promising to me, but I'd also like to see about HTC's 10.1 incher.

Yea touchwiz isnt the greatest thing to ever be put on a device, but I do like the fact samsung is trying to put a movie streaming service out there for tabs.

Samsung is a disaster on software updates. After the gtab. I would hesitate before buying another Samsung. My gtab is a buggy pile.

Honestly will probably either keep my Xoom or go with HTC if they come out with a 10.1 incher

Touchwiz vs native Google.
Xoom will get updates as soon as released, others when the manufacturers decide to update, or if to update.
Xoom is like the G 1, until the Xoom 2 shows up, my Xoom wont be going anywhere. :)

I had a debate with my friend and he brought up a bunch legitimate points:

1) Samsung has a horrible track record getting updates pushed out in a reasonable amount of time
2) Samsung claimed they weren't going to 'gunk up' Android with the TouchWiz interface... They lied.
3) While not official, the Motorola Xoom is basically considered the developers tablet for Honeycomb (kind of like the Nexus One is for Android phones)

Anyone know what screen the Xoom uses? I heard it was not so great. At least Samsung will have the Super PLS screen.

In the end I might end up with the Toshiba tablet. Very nice additions, IMO.
