xoom update NOT HERE YET UNACCEPTABLE

By the way it is friday may 13 and no updates, if the xoom would work properly i would not be complaining too much about the update.

250000 is a lot if you just drop it to the masses it will crash the servers. they said it will roll out over next few weeks. just the way updates go nothing new. that's why sights like xda rock they have was for you to update with out waiting.

i think it is bad that I have a Verizon xoom and I Don,t have the update and some people with wifi do. I know I have had mine longer than any wifi user.

I'm in the same boat as you. It's BS.

I'm don't like apple any more or less then android but it sure is nice when they push an update everyone can get it at the same time so I don't like the excuse it will crash the servers with 250,000 units since there are probably 2.5 million iPhones downloading updated software when its released.

I also still have not received the update nor my music beta invite.....

Tha'ts because Apple doesnt push the updates, they rely on you to pull them down and manually install them. You can still be the victim of slow/unrsponsive servers.

I like android more then ios but I have owned every iteration of iPhone including the att and vzw iPhone 4 both I pads and iPod touches and never had a problem with the update or slow servers. I was just simply saying when android has an update it takes weeks to roll out, my thunderbolt finally was updated yesterday after weeks of being told it was released. I know its a long slow process and there choosing groups by imei but the question I have if there choosing a slow methodical process how do some wifi xoom users get the update when there not 3g?

don't forget praying you don't get a phone call or text message while you're doing it or you'll have to start the "sync" over.

I have a stock 3g Verizon xoom here in calif. And still no update
Does changing the date and rebooting help? Do I switch the date back before I reboot?

Wow already Friday morning...thought the update was supposed to be finished before Friday...I think?

Don't need to reboot... just turn off auto time setm hut back one on dare and exit the screen.. the update check screen will show new time, then go back and turn on auto time.. doesn't help tho, makes it check, but mine checked at 8:40 this, morning with STILL no update...

Weeks?? No, they said it would be "pushed to all vzw 3g by friday", wifi was coming in next few weeks... wifi seems to already be getting it and "all vzw" still hasn't...

Dude stop defending Google, the fact is that Google, oems and carriers are horrible at updates where is GB?????? What phone wad upadated????? None the only

Get over your whining already. This is how OTA updates work. If you don't like it, go get yourself a notepad, pen, and an abacus (and maybe some bird stuffed animals and a couple pigs if you're the gaming type) because at least you won't have to shake and cry over your precious OTA update that you deserve NOW NOW NOW!!!

And in terms of your Gingerbread "point", don't blame Google. The source code has been out there. Blame the manufacturers who heavily skin their devices. Blame the carriers who have strict standards as to what they will or won't allow in their carrier branded phones. I got my Gingerbread update within days of it being released because I didn't have to worry about that stuff. But if I had a carrier branded phone, I wouldn't whine like a 12 year old just because I didn't receive it right away.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. It's everyone's right to complain, sure it won't speed anything up but half the people on here take comfort in knowing there not suffering alone.

I wonder what's going to happen when Ice Cream Sandwich is released later this year and people have to wait a few days or weeks for that. You think the whining is bad now (and people are all upset waiting for this .1 release now). It'll be complete nerd chaos. Threats of lawsuits and online petitions maybe some pillaging in the streets. I can't wait!

I think there is plenty of blame to go around. Starting with Motorola and then working on down through the food chain so to speak.
