xoom update NOT HERE YET UNACCEPTABLE

What I don't understand is why wifi only xooms have to wait......3.0 is unstable as HE LL...

Wifi versions are getting updated. Mine was the other night.

my friend got the update on his 3g version, but it still lags like crazy

Had my 3g xoom since launch day, still no update. It's 8pm here...I have been passing the time taking shots at Google, Motorola and vzw on twitter

Get over your whining already. This is how OTA updates work. If you don't like it, go get yourself a notepad, pen, and an abacus (and maybe some bird stuffed animals and a couple pigs if you're the gaming type) because at least you won't have to shake and cry over your precious OTA update that you deserve NOW NOW NOW!!!

And in terms of your Gingerbread "point", don't blame Google. The source code has been out there. Blame the manufacturers who heavily skin their devices. Blame the carriers who have strict standards as to what they will or won't allow in their carrier branded phones. I got my Gingerbread update within days of it being released because I didn't have to worry about that stuff. But if I had a carrier branded phone, I wouldn't whine like a 12 year old just because I didn't receive it right away.

Yeah it is me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me and about me okay. Where is the update? AGAIN moto sold a few xooms if their servers cant handle that then they shoukd just go out of business.
And dont defend google they are pretty bad at updates, and again it is google's fault because they could make the oem update their devices fast.

I wonder what's going to happen when Ice Cream Sandwich is released later this year and people have to wait a few days or weeks for that. You think the whining is bad now (and people are all upset waiting for this .1 release now). It'll be complete nerd chaos. Threats of lawsuits and online petitions maybe some pillaging in the streets. I can't wait!

It is pretty funny, actually, when you think about it. It was just like this when Froyo came out too... lol Guess that's just how we geeks roll...

Ahh yes, the good ol' Storm days. haha Somehow waiting for Xoom updates are more fun though!

Woke up around 6:30 this morning. No updates. All three XOOMs updated around 8AM.

Received my 3.1 update this morning. I read a forum post that someone powered off their xoom overnight and the update showed up when they powered back up the next morning. I tried that last night, and, low and behold, the update showed up this morning. I don't know if it is coincidence or not, but my xoom is updated to 3.1 and I am a happy camper. A thank you goes out to the person who posted the overnight power down trick

After reading this thread I was going to try the 'power down and see if it shows up' trick, and lo and behold, the update was already waiting for me. It must've pushed out to my Xoom overnight. Finally!
