Is there anyway to check your Moto X version to see if it is line for an OS update? I have a XT1053, I think it is an international GSM version but I am stuck on 4.4.2. Help.

I'm guessing you clicked on settings and about phone and clicked software update already?

After further investigation I have discovered that there is indeed another version of the XT1053 and it is for Nextel Mexico. When you go to Settings>About Phone>System Version does it show 161.44.35.ghost_row.nii.en.mx? The US version should show 161.44.35.ghost_row.Retail.en.US

Mine is indeed 161.44.35.ghost_row.nii.en.mx. What are my options? The Moto X is my first Android phone in a while, but with a proper step by step guide I am able to do great things.. LOL

I did some research and 4.4.2 took a couple months to get to this particular firmware, the same can be expected for all updates I guess. I may investigate the feasibility if putting the T-Mobile rom on it.

Your probably better off rooting and flashing a recovery. You will want to go with CM11 as your rom. It is definitely the best, most stable rom available for any phone. It gives many more features than AOSP Android, but maintains that stock user interface that we all love so much.

What I like most about the Moto X are it's features such as always on and active display. Are those last with CM ?
