Y key on keyboard does not work???

My daughters incredible is having an issue where the Y key will not function on the stock keyboard or while using swiftkey x. You have to turn the phone into landscape mode to be able to type a Y. Any idea what could be causing this? Is it possible for a specific portion of the touch screen to not work? No visible damage and phone has the latest OTA update from a couple days ago (had this problem before the OTA so it's not being caused by the latest update.

That's very odd- the individual touch sensors are larger than 1 key on the keyboard, so generally you would see more keys affected than just the Y. Any other times that you notice non-responsiveness from the keyboard?

Nope, everything else works fine as well as both keys on either side of the Y key (U and T). It is just the Y key on any keyboard we try while in the portrait mode. Turn it to landscape is the only way to type a Y.
