Quick question. My wife and I each have had our S4's for a few years. Just recently we have had some storage problems when it comes to updates and so forth. We have moved as many apps as we could to the sd card, deleted apps to do updates and so forth. Even used a cache cleaner to do updates. But today I sent my wife an email and she said it showed she does not have enough storage to display it. We both use Yahoo by the way. She went ahead and deleted our current text message thread between the two of us (which we both did a few weeks back) and instantly she received 14 new emails. Is this normal? Is there a way I can set her up so that yahoo uses her sd card instead if this is normal? Thanks for any help!

Are you using the Yahoo Mail app, or are you using the stock Email app for your Yahoo mail? If the latter, is it the POP3 server? POP3 saves email locally, so you may want to change to the IMAP server (https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4075.html), or try using the Yahoo Mail app, which doesn't save emails locally.

I am using the stock email app for yahoo email. Thanks for you tips. I will look into switching as you suggested. Thanks again!

Good advice from B. Diddy. Switch to IMAP email.

To make some space, delete emails saved on the phone and texts.
Move photos, videos, etc to the SD card.
You deleted some apps. Delete more if you don't need them.

To stay aware of the space left for apps, install this simple little app called Storage Truth. It's very small and will install in very limited space. It will tell you how much space you actually have left for installing apps:
