Did a search and couldn't turn up any answers...

I keep getting "login failed" when I try to access my Yahoo mail while connected to WIFI. Anyone have a fix for this? (besides just going back to mobile connection).

Got the same problem. Just got the phone yesterday and tried to set up my yahoo account and failed to do so. Switch of the WIFI and did it over 3G and it worked perfectly.

When checking your free Yahoo email address, it will not work over WiFi but it will only work on your carrier data network.

Now, if you have Yahoo plus with POP3/IMAP enabled then you could check your Yahoo email over WiFi.

I too am having these issues with Yahoo.......why is it ok with Yahoo Plus and not regular Yahoo mail?

Being that WiFi is more efficient in saving battery life it is kind of bothersome not being able to receive mail....good thing that you are forced to get a GMail account as it certainly comes in handy when Yahoo is not responding

Hi,

When I have my yahoo email setup with Imap (wifi off), yahoo does two way sync very nicely.

When I have my yahoo email setup with pop3 (yahoo plus) and I delete an email directly from the mail.yahoo.com site, it doesn't delete the same email from my phone. It leaves a copy my phone. Do you know why this is?

I used to have the same issues with my blackberry and gmail. I am home a lot so I like having my wifi on, but don't like that when I delete from the server, it leaves a copy on my phone.

Thanks

What puzzles me is... you'd think Yahoo would want to compete hard against GMail. By making it difficult for users, and/or only offering it for a Yahoo Plus subscription, I think they're driving users away to GMail.

Just my $.02c.

Agreed. Yahoo is shooting the pooch on this. This is symptomatic of why Google is eating everyone else's lunch in the tech world lately. Offer your services for free, make them integrate with everything you possibly can and plan your revenue model around ads. Yahoo is living in the internet of 10 years ago. Won't be long before they're the next AOL.

I've had Yahoo! Plus for hears now, simply because I got sick of the ads. Gmail is and has been my primary email address for years, not sure why I'm still paying the fee. One solution would be to add your Yahoo! Account to your gmail account so it polls it for messages.

I have also enjoyed the features of Yahoo! Plus for years. I currently have my Gmail forwarded to my Yahoo! address. I also set up filters in Yahoo! to send a text message to my phone when a new mail arrives.

So far it is working out really great. There is almost no delay at all. For example I forgot a password and had an email sent to me to recover it, I barely got a chance to read the following page before I hear my phone alert me with a text.
