So here it is, and believe me when I say, I did the proper research on google and android central forums before I post this. But since the whole situation seems just like a joke with no reasonable answers, I have to ask.
Got a brand new HTC One M8s (notice the s as in new edition of the old M8). It's supposed to have a great battery according to sources and acually, at times it has shown that as well. At one point last week-end, I got the phone to run over 50 hours with 2 days of "normal" use, and normal use with a new phone is more or less more than normal in any other case. Normal use is maybe a couple of hours of phone calls, 3-4 hours of music and podcasts etc. So with this result, I was very happy.
This is varying though. Mostly, like the last week for example, I get shat in the face by the battery life. Just for stats I did this last night: Unplugged it at 100% around 10 pm. Didn't use it at all, except setting an alarm. Battery was down to 85 % by 12 pm when I went to sleep. I wake up at 7:30 am with 50 % and I get to work (still not even using the phone) and at work I try to restart the phone to see if there are any crazy things in the background killing the battery. Restart at 44 %, when it starts anew, it's at 23 %. I mean, WHAT? So the battery has just gone from 100 % to 23 % in 10 hours with NO USE AT ALL?
Ofc, I have tried most things. Removed all the auto-syncs, installed greenify to kill the instagram app that I thought was the theif. I have updated to the last software version (whichever it might be) and been in general battery smart. I've done so many things, that is actually killing the functionality of the phone (like the sync, ofc a phone is supposed to be able to automatically sync the weather and mail so I don't have to check in manually???). After looking at the stats, I believe that the wake lock might partly be my bug, but it can't be the whole answer, because no other post I've seen about wake locks kills the phone this fast? Though, the flight-mode is actually a real battery saver, so it might be something that is shutting down at flight mode.
So look at the screen shots below:

I'm flabbergasted and I surely need your help. I bought a new phone MAINLY because I couldn't get enough battery life out of my old iPhone 4s.
