And Panorama isn't even new on the HOX, its been on many different Android phones for well over a year. My wife's Atrix 2 has this.

And even my old Nexus One, had a Maps app that actually worked!!!

Beside the fact that we can.go back.and fourth with roms, and all can have Panoramic Camera, iPhone, why?

People in my school keep going, I'm getting the iPhone 5!

They don't understand a thing, just that Apple made it.

well Apple is doing a fantastic job in keeping their initial hype going (i.e. the one they had with the fantastic iPhone 3G and 3GS) but currently the real innovations are comming from Samsung, Google. However as long as millions of people are willing to spend 690$ for a decent phone and are willing - or actually more than happy - to give up all their individual choices, then this hype will be going on.

I only like how the iPhone doesn't slow down sometimes like an Android.

Agreed, I have always beem amazed at how much of that lie is actually believed universally. iPhone and iOS have lag too, sometimes it is ridiculous. For instance, if looking at pictures/videos from the gallery, swiping back and forth from pictures to videos often makes it lag big time, in a way I have never seen my HOX do. In fact, the HOX gallery application is as smooth as it gets.

I haven't tried the iPhone 5, though, but I can imagine that such powerful hardware can definitely move a 2007 OS and UI without issues. People keep freaking out at simple stupid stuff like that, not realizing it is the same old they have seen for years... just a bunch of icons sliding right to left and viceversa... Of course it is smooth! Add real time updating widgets in there, throw 3D effects in and tell me if it is as smooth...

People look at the same crap 4 years in a row and, instead of wondering why it is the same again, why they are still missing so many cool things Android Phones have, they just love it smooth. Oh well, at least I think a lot of people are awakening thanks to Apple keeping iOS stale and mostly thanks to the Maps fiasco. Man, I have laughed so hard in ages... I really hope Apple's infinite greed returns back to them in the form of poor sales... The iPhone 5 is still to be released in many major markets, and I am sure all the bad press and moking about maps wont help!

Martin I was thinking of making a video to explain this to people. omg their whole os is basically our app menu screen.
The Android adds so much like the widgets and multiple customizable home screen and to add to all of that we have live
wallpaper running in the background. I'm Amazed how people still love the app loading iOS its boring as hell.
omg look at how much their OS has improved over the past years lmao

As a former android user, I think I am qualified to jump in here...

I have the iPhone 5, upgraded from the 4. I love the phone. Sure, there are things I miss from my android days! I think the standard keyboard of android is much much better than that on the iPhone. However, the voice recognition from the keyboard button on the iPhone has (for me anyway) worked much smoother than any of my androids did.

I still have android in the family. My wife has the Fascinate, soon to be replaced with the S3. My boy runs around with my old HTC Incredible. I swapped my Rezound for the iPhone 4 (and two other androids). The Rezound was sweet. For Christmas I plan on getting each of my three kids an N7, plus one for me. No iPad here!

Anyhoo, having had both operating systems, I can say both are terrific, but different. In my opinion, android can be overkill at times. For me, I see no reason to have an app drawer plus five to seven home pages. I wanted quick access to all the apps I downloaded, so they all went on homepages, it was no different than my iPhone.

Sure, you can customize the heck out of an android, but not everyone wants to do that. The only thing I truly miss about my android, aside from the keyboard, are the widgets. But that is a trade off I'll live with.

I start my ten hour work night with 100% battery on my iPhones. When I go home I still have 30-40% left, sometimes more. Same usage with my android had me either replacing the standard battery at dinner or charging thru the night. Of course I went with the extended battery and that made the phone bulky and ugly. But it was the only way to make it thru the work night.

The biggest thing that converted me to iOS was apps. I had a few apps I really needed to simplify my life and they were only available for iOS. The availability of the Lifeproof case made it an easy swap too. Then the thing that made me decide to stick with the iPhone was my treatment at the local Apple store after I got my Five. Long story short, Verizon screwed me over and Apple took care of me and went above and beyond. Their customer service was better than I've ever had.

So don't be a hater just because someone doesn't make the same choice as you. You never know what you will choose in the future and you don't want to look like a fool down the road!

I prefer order and organization. That's why I love the idea of an app tray. I don't want my 200 apps right in front of me everytime I unlock my screen. Sometimes i just want to check the weather or Sports scores. I'm not hating on Apple, I just am stating why I personally prefer Android.

I don't consider Apple to have a true OS. It's got an app tray, and a browser. That's it. Android offers so much more. It may be overkill to some people, but it's not like you're forced to consume everything Android offers all at once. But at least it's there if you decide to use it.

That's the beauty of it.... There ARE choices. Some (not saying you!) would prefer Apple and the iPhone go away and never come back. I like both platforms. In all honesty, I went with the iPhone 5 this time around for those few reasons I stated in my earlier post. I serious considered the S3 because it does appear to be an awesome phone. But at the time I made my decision, there were a few apps that I really needed that aren't available for android. Once those do become available for the android, I may come back.

To be honest though, I love this iPhone and will love it even more once there is a jailbreak for it. I can see me being with this phone for a long long time. But as I said before, there will still be android phones in the house! And tablets!

Then again, I might get a hair up my rear next week and cash in on the demand for the new Five. With mine being black and 64gb, it should bring a nice price!!!! LOL

Apps for Apple that you really need which aren't available for Android?

Like what? iTunes perhaps?

LOL, that's a good one!!!! I used iTunes for my iPod classic and my android phones! ;-)

Certain apps for my kids' schools. Not a HAVE TO but certainly makes my life easier. Like I said, it was my choice.

Enjoy your androids! I hope Apple doesn't ruin it with all the stupid lawsuits!

Sorry man that OS is boring and its starting to show its age. its very Simple and very easy to use, but its boring as hell I had iphone2g and 3g
I stopped there. I don't hate Apple in General and I certainly don't want them to die, ever.
They need to reinvent their OS omg its old. Just like Rim is doing with their upcoming BB10
and look at the Windows OS how its evolved over the years and so has Android.
Apple is the only one with the same boring OS. Next year they will allow you to add a clock widget
to your home screen and everyone will think its a totally new os.

I seem notice a trend that many current iPhone 4/5 users that switched from Android phones did so from devices pre-ICS. Obviously not everyone's story is the same. I upgraded from the OG Evo to the LTE and until I actually used an ics phone I used to think my old evo was relatively "smooth". Now back in 2010 it was (imo) very smooth and was Androids first breakthrough device that really challenged the iPhone. However, like other androids without proper maintenance androids don't age particularly well. They are not simple iPhones, they are like portable PCs and any experienced PC user knows you can't expect your PC to run like the day you bought if you do not maintain it. Hence, why an android is more of a techies preference. But any device before ics is almost night and day, the GS3, one x/evo is the android experience we all were envisioning it would be, and jellybean seems to be going even further. To say the iPhone is flawless is a blatant lie, my sister has the 4s and once her phones storage was maxed out, (16g) the phone slowed down tremendously compared to a new empty phone, and she admitted her frustrations with that.

Now the iPhone 5 is already getting all kinds of bad rep for certain issues and the fact that it's still the same experience it always was, bland and boring. I could never downgrade to ios, smaller screen, no 720p, etc. As I always say though, to each his/her own.

I don't see why ppl complain about not having widgets on the iPhone. I have 1 widget (weather) on my note out of 5 home screens. The rest is just apps and a few shortcuts. If android battery life wasn't complete crap I might have more widgets.I'd much rather have to go into the app itself and have better battery life than to have a widget running. Widgets are down towards the bottom of my list of things to care about. Screen and battery life are probably top 2

I use widgets on all five of home screens. I use them even single day. They are important to me. They don't drain battery life. I still get at least 19 hours on a charge. Yes, widgets are a preference but not necessarily a battery drain.
