Your phone's temperature is too low...

Since I just got it I have 14 days to return and I believe exchange.
So far so good.

CKwik240 I am trying that app now. See if it goes down to 0 again over time. If so I will exchange it or sure.

It looks like the log is growing for me so depending on sample rate (which may be low to save battery) and how large a time period it displays (it will probably start a rolling time period at some point), it may not show a small blip on data. Especially if it does any averaging of values to smooth out the curve. If you decide to keep logging the data, I'd try and find an app that stores the raw data.

Logging program is logging.. So far the battery is being recognized and it is charging.

That is really weird indeed.. It is like something kicked it in the bits. :)

I guess at this point I will give it a week and see what happens. If it behaves I may keep it. If it does that even one more time though I will exchange it. Got it directly from Samsung so it is kind of a pain to exchange, at least compared to a store.

This is a great app for monitoring this sort of thing. You can fine tune the recording intervals.

Definitely much better. Not sure if the 5 second interval is granular enough, but I'm used to data logging in the low millisecond ranges (occasionally even smaller intervals). The watcher function could have actually been really providing for this purpose if it had a </= function as it would eliminate the need to have such small intervals. The ability to export the data is pretty nice too.

It's not good to charge a Li-ion battery if it's frozen, which is why that warning exists.

I'd personally first try it with the phone shut off, to eliminate any app conflicts. If it works, then try safe mode. If that doesn't work, or it works when off only, then try a factory reset. This may work, but my suspicions are a hardware defect. May as well do this anyway, because customer service will likely want you to do one to try diagnosing the problem before sending it in.
Unless in the arctic, or left the phone in a freezer, seeing no ambient reason for the error.

I live in Wisconsin and work outside at times, so not out of the realm of possibility. Lol.

But I wasn't saying that what's going on with my comment. Only pointing out there's a reason for that warning, even though something has glitched in this case.

My Galaxy S8 had this problem last year. High temps in and out doors but battery too cold to charge. My research at the time led me to believe it was a faulty thermistor. I sent it to my phone co and because of the intermittent nature of the fault it was returned to the store for me to collect. Started it up in store and problem was still there. Sent it to Samsung and got a refurbed phone which developed the same fault. A soft reset cured the false reading most times so I could charge the battery but I would still have disturbed sleep as wireless charging is paused messages pinged. A cable connection made no difference, either.

Don't hope the problem will go away, it won't!

Just an update for anyone interested.

So far so good. That error has not returned and the battery temp sensor has been registering to the system.

I may be okay. If it does it again I will return it if it is within that window. If it is out of that window then a warranty repair etc.. is next.

It started again today. I am calling Samsung on Tuesday, I assume they are not ope on Labor Day.
Going to exchange it. They better send me out a new one and I will send this back, don't want to be without a phone.

I did use an Aukley charger when I first got this. Just got that off Amazon, it is a 45Watt charger, thought would work. Discovered that only Samsung chargers can charge at 45W.

Is there ANY way that could have done something to it? Logically I would not think so but maybe there is something I am missing. Scared to use that charger now just in case. $45 wasted if it is that unless I return it.
It does charge on that when it charges.

I had the same issue. got the unlocked phone from samsung.com . They (samsung call center) gave too much of hassle to get it sorted out. RESET/WIPE DATE DOESN'T WORK.

SAMSUNG DOESN'T REPLACE OR EXCHANGE. So, i spent over 6 hours to get hold of right dept and resolve the issue.. EVEN THE LOCAL SAMSUNG AUTHORIZED REPAIR (UBREAKIFIX) don't repair NOTE10PLUS as its a new device and they don't have proper resources there.

!. phone was under 15 days return policy. so they wanted it to be returned.
As a pre-order deal got some accessories with the phone, they wanted it back( was of 200$)
2. i had trade-in prog. got the credit of 350$ and (phone was shipped to them last week.)
Now the trade in value is 200 for that phone which was $350 at the pre-order.(now loss of 150$)
3 purchase a new phone via samsung.com

THAT WAS THE SOLUTION for the battery issue.

they kept transferring me to different dept. but no one was able to give a resolve the issue.

ASKED FOR SUPERVISOR, call was redirected to the que which was a wait time of minimum of 50-60 mins.

bottom line : SAMSUNG LOST ONE THE LOYAL CUSTOMER. i have been upgrading every year since SAMSUNG GALAXY S ii. this will be the last phone from of samsung.

samsung dont have replacement policy or exchange . we need to purchase a new one and return the old faulty device. i spent half of my day today to get is replaced but i was unsuccessful. i decided not to buy samsung phone from now on

I am returning it. Samsung would not exchange it, so I have to return it. Sprint could not help me either.

Sucks as I lose my free Galaxy buds and charger. :(

So I ordered another Note 10+ from Amazon, unlocked. If I have a problem I can deal with Amazon.

I REALLY love the Note 10+ so do want it. Also ordering from Amazon I get a free Echo Plus. I have always said I would never have one of of those devices since I don't trust them but this has a button to turn the mic off.. May play with it..

I am going to try Mint and save at least half on my phone plan since I can use the unlocked one. Going to leave Sprint after 12 years with them.

Why do you loose your freebies?

Anyways I hope everything works out with the one your purchased from Amazon

I just got it yesterday. No water or other damage.

Can someone with a Note 10 Plus do me a favor and install this app and tell me if it "sees" a battery temp sensor? Mine just says N/A when I select it.

Or any app that displays the data. Please just let me know which one you try so I can directly compare.

Edit: Okay this is weird..While testing again for this post I now see a temperature with that app. First time it did not say N/a...So this is hardware not working correctly. I would still like to see your temps. Mine is now saying 91.4F. Battery is at 71%

The battery temperature sensor is part of the battery circuitry and not on the motherboard itself.

That means it won't come up in a hardware check. The battery is reporting it's too cold. That means you likely have a hardware problem. The battery itself could be fine, but the sensor could be bad. Since the sensor is part of the battery circuitry, you'd either:

a) Replace the battery, or
b) Replace the phone.

The latter is the easier option for you since it's still within its warranty.
