How is the software to program the tags? It seems like that is where the "magic" is.

You can install it and walk through to the point of actually programming the tag. It's very wizard like and simplified. I'm guessing (because I haven't done it yet.) that the "Allow multiple writes" check box allows you to just step through it again and add additional things to the tag.

Hopefully someone writes an app that allows code.....

If I buy the Mobile Hotspot for sprint... Or I root and tether (most likely). I might put one on my iPad. Tap it, hotspot comes on and connects it to the iPad.

Maybe I'll put one on the nightstand set it to ingore all calls and texts from people not in my favorites. (Possible right?).

I just had the same idea. Have you tried it yet? I'm wondering if the metal interferes with the tag.

As it currently stands I don't see them useful with how I use my device. Great idea though! I mean I might use one in the car...But I cant see my self spending $15 for one with the pack. Also so we know how long they last for? Like how long they can stick for or if they even come off? I don't want it in one location forever you know! Also honestly I have not done to much research on them! :p

I'll probably toss one in my car to activate GPS, open UberMusic and turn up the media volume. I mostly use tasker, but I'll try out the Tectiles.

For myself, I can see a couple of uses for Tectiles. When we are in our RV it would be handy to have the phone switch off the office and home wifi's and hook up to the wifi in the RV automatically.

The other, when getting in my car I would like to have it turn off all wifi and turn on bluetooth to hook up to the car. My problem here is that I'm totally anal about having stuff stuck onto the car somewhere where it can be seen and detract from it. Even a small tectile pad that sticks onto the car somewhere would make me nuts. I'll have to look for a place where it can't be seen but can still be easily accessed to swipe it as I get into the car.

How about forwarding calls to a home phone to avoid using minutes?

Can you use one to initiate a call and enter a forwarding number?

As for the stickers, I've seen dog tag versions as well. If it holds up in a pocket, you could hang it on a keychain.

I am debating on buying them currently.

A few interesting uses would be for a few unique tasker profiles I have made. I have Vivint security system(yes, they have crazy sales tactics, but wife wanted security system, and I went with one that had home automation).

My first profile locks my front/back doors, turns off my main lights, arms security system as away by pushing an icon on home screen.

Second is like the first but turns a few lights on, unlocks front door and disarms alarm with a button on homescreen.

Third is a profile for when im sleeping at night. Locks all doors, turns off all lights, and turns motion sensors off.

With the stickers i'm still debating n where i'd put them. Id likely put the lock/unlock in my car somewhere and place the sleep on on nightstand where I place my phone.

Still brainstorming on other ways to pair tasker and the tectiles.

You could stick one in the drivers side door jamb, just visible when you open your car door. Activate it on your way in/out of the car. Maybe slide one under the front edge of your seatcover, so it is not visible, but should still work. Under the dash or steering column, not visible, but you know where to swipe your phone. There should be a bunch of nearly invisible options in a car. Or you could use a key fob NFC. I got a free keyfob with my sticker order from www.tagsfordroid.com

I have a company car, so thinking if I get them I'll put the stickers on magnets. That way I can move the stickers where ever I want them that works with a magnet.

Not being a fan of earphones while riding, I use a boombotix2 while commuting on my bike. It links to my S3 via a Bluetooth/Tasker setup. Tasker almost made the setup perfect. It is set to launch google music and set the volume to the appropriate level if I turn on the boombotix.

I say almost because while I'm riding, the phone is in a zipped outside pocket of my backpack. If a song on my playlist comes up that I don't want to listen to, I have to pull off, take the phone out of the zipper pocket, unlock and advance the track. Not ideal.

So I'm thinking if I attach a tectile which is programmed to "advance track" to one of the straps on my backpack, I can just tap it to the outside of the pocket on the fly! I've ordered but haven't received the tags yet. I'll post back to let y'all know how it goes.

My iPad plan was foiled. I wanted to put a TecTile on my iPad and have it turn my hotspot on/off but Samsung's TecTile app doesn't have an option for that setting. It does let you run an app though.

Is there any good Hotspot toggle out there? Saw a few a month or two back but nothing worked well.

How did you get your Tasker profiles and actions setup with Vivint?

I would love to use tasker to arm and disarm my vivint panel, can you tell me how you did it? I can only get as far as opening the app and logging in.
