Your Previous Phone vs Nexus 4

I havent pulled the trigger yet on the nexus 4. I will be coming from GS3 and need to be swayed. Can anyone chime in?

I miss synergy from my Palm Pre, also being able to truly have multiple apps open and running and the cards feature. I also miss being able to swipe to delete emails and individual texts. From my Motorola Photon app, I miss the Social Networking app.

Coming from a GS2, I miss being able to carry spare batteries.. Does anyone know if a case with a built in battery is in the works such as the ones that you can buy for iPhones? That would be a life saver at this point. Even though I rarely used Touchwiz, I would go to it from time . So yeah I miss that too even though I'd never thought that I would say it.

Last phone: Galaxy Nexus
New phone: Nexus 4

The difference is night and day. I delayed getting a N4 for so long because I bought into all the talk by the GNex guys. They swore up and down that the N4 was barely an upgrade. Now that I upgraded, I know how very wrong they were. The N4 is way better than the Galaxy Nexus in every way! There's no way I could ever go back.

I am coming from a Thunderbolt and I miss nothing about it. I would say kickstand but I got this awesome Eagle case that had s kickstand in it so I got a complete upgrade. Oh and straighttalk is half of what I was paying at Verizon.

Coming from a Droid Incredible, I miss being able to use the phone easily with one hand. That, and not being really scared every time I drop the phone.

Technically my last phone was a slider, but that was just a hold-me-over between the EVO 4G on Sprint and my N4 with T-Mo.

As for comparisons, actually it's not that huge of a deal as it would be from a number of other kinds of devices out there. The screen is bigger, the CPU is faster, I have more RAM, a newer version of Android... but really the most important factor for me was switching away from Sprint and going off-contract. I'm all about liberty, and the N4 is everything I've really ever wanted in that respect.

nothing. The Nexus 4 is better in every way than the Nexus S.

A physical home button. With the case that I put on the N4, the power button is in the recess for the case and can sometimes seem hard to get to.

And my previous phone was dropped more times than a two foot putt. I'll miss it's indestructability.

I came from an LG Optimus V, so I can safely say that I miss absolutely nothing.

I mean I suppose having an SD card slot was nice, I guess, but that's about it.

Me too. I'm paying twice what I was with Virgin now, but have unlimited minutes which I didn't have before. And a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better phone.

I miss the Me hub where I can check all notification that are linked to my accounts on Widows Phone, I also miss the numbered notification on the app icon to tell me that I have notification for the app.

Miss:
Camera, but not much
iMessage - Just worked really well with other iOS users. Notice it a lot when someone tries to send me a contact and it gets garbled and useless
Charge Time
Battery - But have to say with 4.2.2 this may be a non-issue now for me
Remote App - Control Mac iTunes to control music in the house over Airplay to multiple rooms
Airplay Integration - I have Airplay through AirSync, but not quite as good as integrated into the OS

Don't Miss:
Boring iOS
Lack of any customization
Field of never ending icons on the screen
Slow Data - Yeah right 4G... N4 is 10x faster in testing without LTE
Small Screen
Unified Inbox - Actually lie having work and personal mail in separate App. I know I could have done this on iOS, but just didn't I guess.

Coming from an S3 & before that a GNex.
S3 kills my GNex but the N4 IMO beats my S3. Not by as wide a margin, but still definitely better.
Won't even mention my iPhone 5, LoL.

Chimpware, your comment leads me to believe that you thought your iPhone 4S had 4G LTE capability. I don't believe this was the case. Out of curiosity, with whom did your iPhone have service?

Still both should be running HSPA+. Unless he is in Canada or a U.S band 4 market and using the nexus on LTE.

Lots of things.

-iOS was getting stale for me. The update from ICS to JB is what sold me. I think at that point Google proved that android could be just as smooth and fast as iOS and is capable of so much more.

-The larger screens with the same or higher PPI than the "retina" displays drew me in.

-The nerd in me! I was finding that the iPhone just wasnt as usable for me if it wasnt jailbroken. I was noticing, and have now confirmed, that almost all of those tweeks I had installed through Cydia came stock or could be added without root on Android. I am unlocked and rooted now though and just flashed my first kernel last night.

-The pace at which android is moving is incredible. You don't get that with Apple.

I came from the 3GS and then the 4S and loved them both. I was, and still am, an Apple fan. But I think it was time for me to try the other side. I couldn't just sit on one side of the fence. I also can't say that I would never go back. Depending on what Johny Ive does with iOS over the next couple of years, I may go back. For now though, I'm here to stay. I love android. I love that I have experience with both sides now and feel I can offer better advice to people and be less biased.

You have above precisely summarised my reasons from moving from Apple (iPhone 4) to an N4, and like you I also still remain an Apple fan but I wanted to try Android and reach an informed decision regarding which OS to use in the future. I too love the flexibility of Android which I could only achieve with Apple after jail breaking my phone. I am currently unlocked and rooted and love it.
