I'm pretty new to Android, but had started checking out this site before I bought my Evo (had a Palm Pre before and loved it!). There are so many more apps available and my top five are (not necessarily in order):

Angry Birds by Rovio Mobile (quite addicting)
Wordfeud FREE by hbwares (play every day with friends)
Google Navigation (fantastic, though the voice is a bit 'robotic')
Retro Camera by Urbian (Just for fun)
Google to Chrome by Google (quite useful)

1.ESPN Scorecenter/NFL Mobile
2.Snesoid(Paid Version)
3.Beautiful Widgets
4. Skype
5. Google Shopper
Other Notables: Zedge,Amazon,Facebook,Last FM & Flickie Wallpaper

My Top 5?

1. Twitter for Android - I tweet A LOT and it's the best twitter app overall, @afzalALMIGHTY, follow me if you'd like :)
2. Handcent SMS
3. Google Sky Map
4. Angry Birds - I know it just got officially released but I AM ADDICTED!
5. Zedge

Honorable mentions
- Twidroyd Pro
- Firefox
- AIM

Really hard to define your "top 5" apps...

I'll tell you what I use the most on my nexus one:

- Opera Mini
- Palmary Weather Pro
- Launcher Pro (duhh)
- Dropbox
- Explorer
- IMDB + Movies
- ESPN Scorecenter
- Winamp (woohoo)
- Barcode Scanner
- Colornote (like post-its)
- 3G WatchDog (widget)
- Titanium Backup
- Nexus One Torch
- all the google apps that come with the phone...

Datebk6 on a smartphone is exactly why I haven't gone to anything yet - I'm still running it on my Garmin iQue 3600. ... I hope it is sooner rather than later that CESD makes this happen!

I switched from DateBk on the iQue 3600 about two months ago. I'm also very anxious to get the Android version. About a month ago Pimlical told me he has an alpha version he's using. I haven't found an Android calendar that comes close to DateBk. However I must say that getting 12-year's worth of data from DateBk into the purchased version of Pimlical and then into Google calendar and from there into my HTC Evo made me very happy.

Certainly the Android version will be my top app.

Top 5 Apps

My favorite apps on my Droid Inc. are...

1. Google Listen
2. Wordfeud Free
3. Angry Birds
4. Pandora
5. PdaNet

My Top 5

I could have picked more, but many good apps have already been mentioned (Listen, Beautiful Home, Slacker). Here are a few that are worth noting:

Launcher Pro
- Home screen replacement. Tons of customization (add up to 7 home screens, customizable dock(s), Sense-like home switching). Love that the home button brings me back to the last home screen instead of my primary (press twice for primary).

SwitchPro widget
- Beautiful, customizable widgets. Comparable to "Power Control," just better.

doubleTwist
- Everything you need from a music player, nothing you don't. (cubed) is more innovative, but doubleTwist is beautiful and easier to use.

Pulse
- Visual feed reader. Gives an experience more like reading a magazine (image-driven, flick to change articles).

Dropbox
- If you are using this service (why wouldn't you be?!) then this is a great app for you. Gives you access to all of you Dropbox files. You can download or upload right from the app. Most exciting is that other apps are beginning to tie into Dropbox and allow you to sync files. 1Password is a good example. I would like to see more of this in the future.

Tried Subsonic. Loved it. Then it stopped working before the 30 trial was up. After a period of frustration and sadness, I found Audiogalaxy. It does many of the things Subsonic can do but also syncs my iTunes playlists. Based on your preferences, this might not be for you, but I love it. So far it's free (no donation required). Worth checking out.

My 'Most Used 5'

Subsonic - Android and Web access to all your music. Easy to share with others and also alows up/download of music from/to Android, iPhone and web.

Drop Box - Best way to snyc up large files/pictures with just about anyone

Google Voice - Add a second number with total control and text too

MuniAlerts - No more waiting for a train or bus. Alerts and favorites as well.

Racing Live - The only game I've kept on my Android phone for longer than a few weeks, easy to switch to a new phone without losing your progress.

My top 5 (in no particular order) are:

Facebook - Gotta keep in touch with my peeps.

Pandora - Can hook it up in my car with the audio jack *thumbs up*

Lookout Anti-Virus - Better safe than sorry

Animated Weather for Android - Weather forecast application. The exquisitely realistic video effects of cloudiness, rain and snow provide the vivid sensation of current or future weather conditions for more than 50000 locations over the world.
