Your views on Moto X 2014 white front

Was just wondering what people on here think of the white front. I have the white front on mine. Ive seen some people say that it doesn't look good because the Moto X has many sensors on the front and they stick out like a sore thumb on the white version. While I agree that they are obviously more noticeable, it really doesn't detract from the look as far as I'm concerned. In fact, I'm more inclined to say that it actually gives the phone more 'character', rather than making it look crap. I have the bamboo back and I think the white looks better with that. Plus the phone that I was replacing was black, so I felt like a change. That's why I went with the white front. And I'm perfectly happy with it.

I think the white fronts are ugly as heck for exactly the reason you mentioned, the sensors.. It just takes away from what otherwise is a nice looking device..

I never get white phones... Ever seen a TV with a white bezel? There is a reason you won't / don't.

Hi raqball. Yeah I have seen a TV with a white bezel a few months ago (not a full size one, it was around 24"). But granted, they're very rare. To be honest white phones haven't really grabbed my attention in the past either, but I never really considered a black front on this one for the reasons I mentioned. A white front actually seemed quite an attractive proposition this time around. And the fact that the sensors could be seen as ugly never even occurred to me until I read what some people said on forums! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that bollocks I suppose lol

Agreed. And if someone asks me what all the things are on the front of my phone it will give me the perfect opportunity to point out that they are sensors that allow me to do things that they can't do with their phone

That's the beauty of choice!

The Moto gives us even more by letting us customize the back and the accents.. I went with black front and a bamboo back. I am also getting tired of all black phones and love the options Moto offers.

On my Z3 I went with the black front and the silver / green back..

I think my days of getting black fronts and black backs are over..

As long as you like your design then that is all that really matters.. My preferences are different than yours but I think most will agree black / black is getting old and it's nice to have options!

Got sick of the same old looking black brick. Starting with the 2013 X and now the 2014, I went with white. Nice change up and looks much better on the X than black, imo.

Yes, the Moto X sure does give us the most customisable phone with lots of choices. That's one of its attractions for many people. Choice is good. At least we've all got the option to design a phone to our liking rather than having to settle for whatever is on offer in the store. The Moto X 2014 is not a phone you will see someone with every day. And the fact that you can design your own means that you're not very likely to meet someone who has exactly the same phone as you. Which I think is kinda cool.

My gen 1 moto was black with a blue back. Decided on white with black leather back because I liked the contrast. No complaints about the white.

When i was ready to upgrade to the Moto X, I looked at the black and white fronts. I was dead set on black front. I thought the white showed the sensors too much. Then I started to look at my Note 3 and saw that it had the same problem. When it came time to order the device, I ordered a white front with a blue back. The phone looked really nice. Never regretted getting the white front.

I got the white front mostly because I wanted the light metal band. I don't really like the gunmetal gray band on the black front version.

I originally had a black front with walnut back. I broke the glass & my insurance plan allowed my to replace it. I chose a white front with a walnut back as replacement. The reason was that I prefer the lighter metal band around the perimeter. I think the gun metal against the black looked kind of cheap. (IMHO).

I had both but ended up liking the black one more. Less censors to see. While I like people interested in my phone...I don't want them interested on my phones front for privacy!

I preferred the black. It really was a nice looking phone. To bad finding cases at retail was rather hard.

black/black/gunmetal grey on mine. I like my phones to appear stealthy and unrecognisable to onlookers or potential thieves . I ride transit most the time and work in a crime ridden city..Oakland Ca. It seems to work.

I went with the white front, natural leather back and black accents. It contrasts VERY nicely and the white front is a nice change from having a black front on every phone I've ever owned.
