Youtube 4K video?

I've had this phone for around a week now and I noticed it will occasionally sputter while I'm watching 4K videos on youtube. What causes this? Most of the time it's fine though and plays smoothly unlike my G6 where I never really was able to watch 4K videos with. Any ideas? Possibly network congestion?

My guess is network congestion, but trying to watch 4k video on a phone is overkill anyway. Heck, I'm hard pressed to notice a difference between 1080p and 720p, and often watch 480p on my V20. I'd just drop the resolution and call it a day.
