Youtube - "An error has occured" - Cambridge Sciences Starpad 7" tablet

I recently bought a Cambridge sciences 7" starpad on amazon.

I've had very few issues other than the fact that whenever I open, or try to sign into youtube, i get "an error has occured" message.

I'm not sure if this is linked to this problem, but fore some reason some videos only play a few minutes, then jump back out of fullscreen as if the video has ended.

any help would be appreciated.

ok, i've installed an alternative youtube player, and that appears to work.

Other threads on various forums say to downgrade to an earlier version of youtube, and that appears to work too.

It's the update that's broken the player for a large number of people on ice cream sandwich.
