YouTube Videos Not Loading

I am having a strange issue with my Nexus 5. Happens both on Wifi or cellular - have a solid connection on both. When I try load a Youtube video it will just sit at the black screen with the rotating circle. It will do this forever and not load. I have to close the video, click the video again and it starts playing instantly. Anyone else having this problem?

Try restarting your device.

I have tried that multiple times. Even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Doesn't make a difference.

Clear its data and then reboot right after before opening the app.
